4100U TO ES UPGRADE

Published 2021-11-18
In this video I will upgrade a 4100U to an ES. The customer took a lightning hit, It knocked out 3 4009 IDNAC panels and put an internal ground on the IDNET card. The IDNET card is now obsolete and the replacement is not compatable with the 4100U 12.05.06 software currently running in this panel therefore we need to change the CPU board that supports the version software that supports the replacement IDNET board.

  • Hope you had a great vacation. Glad the upgrade went well, I enjoyed watching this video. I always appreciate the time you put in to be able to upload these videos when time allows. It's always great seeing Simplex equipment. Awhile back I left you a comment on your previous video with a question.

Welcome back man! How was your vacation?
  • The 4100U in general is obsolete and discontinued. Still my favorite panel though. My high school has one of these and I have been trying to be able to get it when it gets decommissioned. The panel is on its last legs. It constantly goes into trouble and has a faulty alarm relay or it thinks it does. Also, the display is kind of broken and the cpu has problems. I was hoping I could get it and with the help of someone I know who helps with programming issues, get the proper revision. Questions: How do you upgrade to a newer revision without bricking the cpu? Also, does the 4100 upgrade software run on windows 10?

Welcome back! My dream is to work at simplex. Do you need some sort of verification or something to go and do inspections for places?
