Jamies takes us through the principals of making pesto and shares the wisdom passed onto him by Italian Nonnas he has met over the years. The traditional Genovese method uses garlic, basil, pine nut, olive oil and parmesan or pecorino but Jamie encourages us to do like the Italians and make it with what we have available. It's guaranteed delicious.

어릴때부터 tv에서 봤던 요리사중에 가장 요리할때 행복해 하시던 요리사 좋은 에너지를 항상 받았습니다. 당신은 최고의 요리사 입니다.
  • ther is always a lot of passion and easy explanation in your cooking shows, that brings your recipes on a higher emotional level! Thanks for that, and yes you are right, many ways for making a pesto to anyone`s gusto! My Mother was from Apulia (she died a few years ago), always sayed, "la strada per il cuore, passa attraverso il stomaco" 💖

Been doing pesto with peanuts for a while, always knew we could use different kinds of nuts for the pesto. Yet, the usage of different herbs to create more diverse variants of pesto is new to me and I'm fully into it. Next time I do pesto, things gonna get crazier haha.

I made pesto before. Only then will you realise how expensive "pine nuts" are and that you may require all the leaves from 1½ basil plants. No wonder nut substitutes are used in the commercial Pesto (read the label on your pesto jar). 😢

I like the way you prepare food from your choice of ingredients, method of cooking, to presentation. I like the tools too. Some look very simple and easy to acquire. Cooking doesn't seem cumbersome to engage in whenever you are in the kitchen. I love watching when your children are cooking with you. What a perfect family!!!

That’s true. People think they like just red or green, but there’s a whole variety of sub categories

  • Thank you Jamie for your recipes but also for your smile and positivity. You are a blessing to the world. God bless also to your family.

So interesting, I had no idea it was possible to use different nuts and herbs, I can't wait to experiment now! Great video, love Jamie's enthusiasm.

Nice one, Jamie. My go-to pesto is a mash up of the following: Sundried tomatoes, red chilli, garlic, EVOO, oregano, little touch of salt. My supermarket of choice has their sundried tomatoes marinated in EVOO & oregano, so I simply have to add the red chilli and garlic. Quick and easy. Got it from Gennaro. Use it with Jamie's dry fried salmon meal instead of the green pesto. So the meal is a combo of Jamie & Gennaro. No wonder I'm cooking so good!

I always have coriander so I always use that and use either cashews or walnuts. I don’t tend to use cheese but I like adding a little lemon juice in the end
