As a experienced guitarist, I can say that Gay Moore was one of the best guitarists in the world. No matter how skilled other guitarists are, they might be able to play his riffs but they can never ever achieve the same tone, same vibrato, same feeling as Gary Moore
  • Gary was one of the best guitarists in the world, period. He was a humble man and we miss him.

He just kind of sits in the back as one of the most underrated, most talented guitarists ever
  • I worked in a vintage guitar shop in Vancouver BC, one day i came back from lunch and the boss said oh Gary Moore was just here, i missed meeting this legend WORST LUNCH BREAK EVER. RIP Gary you were awesome.

The most ferocious and melodic player to ever pick up a guitar. Incredible influence

GM was the all-time great guitar maestro, and yet never received one-one-100th the credit he deserved. Nobody makes a song his as did Gary. Whether speed-strumming fast rock or slow-playing soulful blues tunes, his tone was perfectly pure; and he blessed us with so many styles you can tag him with any type. He was indeed all of them. He was a master at mixing other genres into songs, and that is what made those songs his. Excellent writer and composer, too. It will be a while before there is another one like him. He is missed!

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I only got into Gary Moore about 5-6 years ago. I was definitely late to the party. He had really, really great tone.

I wept for three solid days when I heard he’d died. Me and my Dad loved his gig at the Manchester Apollo in 1984. What a player!

Gary and SRV...just gifted...and seemingly very nice people. Miss them both.
  • Absolutely without a doubt the single most underrated player to ever pick up a guitar. Not a genre he couldn't play brilliantly.
