  • This guy had it all. Great voice, great licks, great tone, great sense of melody, and humble. Sorely missed in a world of music that has gone to shit. RIP Gary Moore.

The finest blues guitarist thats ever lived. Nobody comes close to Gary's epression, his taste, and his amazing tone. A superb artist, sadly missed and never to be replaced.

A brief back story. I live in a small rural town in Germany. In 1986, as paramedics, we had the task of providing medical care (if necessary) at the Gary Moore concert (opening act Mamas Boys). Of course I was there. When do you ever have the chance to experience such a concert in our wasteland? Free catering was guaranteed, but unfortunately everything had already been eaten by the bands. My colleagues couldn't do anything with the music, but I had my fun. Even after 35 years, a memory that is clearly before my eyes as I write this.
  • One of the best guitarists of all time and for sure the most underrated one...

Gary was the man for sure. My favorite guitar player ever by far. He was the king of tone, which was in his fingers. So versatile and expressive. Such a loss. I miss him dearly.
  • I can still recall the circumstances of how I heard of his death. My wife had broken her ankle, and I'd taken her to the hospital to get a cast on it, and while I was waiting for the phone call to go pick her up, I sat down at the computer to peruse Facebook. One of the first things I saw was a post regarding Gary from the Thin Lizzy site, which I would always read immediately. So, I was reading that post, and it suddenly hit me like a bolt from the blue that I was reading the man's obituary. I almost fell off my chair in shock. Threw me for an absolute loop. An amazing legacy of brilliant guitar-playing, but the immense sadness that he wouldn't add to it flooded over me. Damn, but he was gone way too soon.

  • @Outdoor-Rider
He is and will be one the best guitarists in the world forever. His play and his sence and feeling for music will be never forgotten. No one will live forever, but their music will last eternally....

This is pretty good but Gary Moore is deserving of a longer, more detailed documentary.
  • @MarilynFinland
What a brilliant man. I not only gravitate towards his music but I was taken by his soft-spoken humble personality. I love that he thought the greatest compliment to him was just random people telling him how his songs are the soundtrack to their lives. ❤

I was born in '75 and I love this era of rock SOOOOO MUCH . The late 60's / early 70's rock is MAGIC for me. It takes me to another place 🙂

Thank U Thank U Thank U, Gary Moore.. for going back to the Blues. RIP
  • I am still in awe of his 1992 London performance with BB King of "The Thrill is Gone". Two master craftsmen at work who clearly had enormous respect for each other. RIP to both.
