10:43 the crew on the roof of the train was filling up water for the toilet. The water are stored in the water tank on the train roof so the water can flow with gravity to the toilet and the tap. 16:25 That's rigid catenary. The reason why the Yogyakarta station use rigid catenary is because the limited space due to the roof of the platform. Anyway, congrats for the experience of the train. Well done video as expected.

The way you pronounce "Indomaret, Gondangdia,Jatinegara, manggarai" is on point 🌹

Argo dwipangga's recently using new trainset, launched at end of 2023 and start operating this january. Now the trains carried 3 luxury coach instead of one, and of course more comfortable & improved quality.

13:17,,, a lil bit of correction here… Indonesian didnt get to choose the narrow gauge of 1067. It was decided by the Dutch East Indies government.😅 Thus the standard stays until today, some newer train line in Sulawesi already use wider gauge

Trains are named after figures mentioned in the video: 10:12 Ciremai, travels from Semarang Tawang (recently added Bank Jateng for sponsorship reason) via Cirebon - Cikampek route to Bandung (hall) station, in executive and new image economy class. 15:02 Serayu, travels from Purwokerto to (Jakarta) Pasar Senen, but instead via Cirebon, they are travel via Kroya - Bandung - Cikampek line with 106 seats of economy class (we like to called it knee battling seats or kursi adu dengkul). The reason of these seats are because serayu (and several full 106 seats economy class) is subsidized by indonesian government. These trains are very worthy to travel with it, especially morning Ciremai journey, because you can enjoy sea and mountain sceneries in one trip. Thanks for the honest review about our national railway!

Nice one! Indonesia is sometimes overlooked, but the country seemed very clean and modern, and the scenery was spectacular. I really liked the bright green architecture of Stasiun Gambir.

I lived in Java, Indonesia for 8 years and first made the train trip you document in 1971. It was not luxurious then and took longer, arriving in the middle of the night. Certainly better now. Great video. Thanks.

Everything has been said by the other commenters, so I just want to comment on how much I appreciate your attempt at pronouncing all those Indonesian names the right way when you don’t speak the language. You even know how to pronounce the C’s as “ch”; pronounce some of the E’s as schwa; and roll the R’s, not even people from neighboring Malaysia know how to do these. You must have done a great deal of research for this video. 👍 As a bonus, you even pronounce the name “Yogyakarta” the proper way when most of us Indonesians would just say “Jogja” instead 😁 BTW apparently “Dwipangga” means “two mountains” and this refers to the two iconic volcanoes of Merapi and Merbabu in the region.
