My Mother passed away from a drug overdose in 2009. I unfortunately was the one who found her. This was the last song I listened to with her. I was showing her some music the day before she passed. After she died I listened to this on repeat for mths balling my eyes out. It's Mother's day today...so I came here to listen to this song and remember her...and cry. I miss you Mom ❤

My best friend and I planned on getting the Deathbat tattooed on us one day. He sadly passed away in 2011 so I decided to fulfill our dream and I got it tattooed on my back and shoulders. He's always there with me.

I’m thirteen and am a very big fan of A7X. I have added the entire waking the fallen album to my playlist and I hope I never lose interest in these songs

A7X is my metal roots and why my taste in music has developed into what it is. I am a childhood cancer survivor and my Make A Wish Foundation wish was to meet them which I did in 2006 and got to play Chapter 4 with them on stage during their sound check. I will forever be grateful of them and all that they've done for me (I have Synister fedora and Shadows' aviators) A7X for life!

After losing my mom dad month apart I listened to this fucking constantly. Prob wasn’t a good idea and I’m grateful I didn’t go through with it. Now I have 3 kids and it’s been 14 years. I am now 31. Please hold on people, it WILL ALWAYS GET BETTER. No shame in asking for help. I’ll help anyone with this problem if you ask. And getting on meds is not a bad thing at all. You will feel like a completely different person after finding the right mix of medications. Love you all and keep up the honorable fight!

Avenged sevenfold is one of the reasons I'm here. This music makes me feel so much better on my worst days and even takes physical pain away.

My 51 year old father committed suicide a few days ago. Listening to this reminds me that he’s not suffering anymore. No more nights, no more pain.

Fun fact: this song is about suicide told from the perspective of the person committing suicide (which is why it has a sad tone to it). Part 2 is from the perspective of the angry/confused family and friends of the deceased one (hence, it's violent/angry tone). I heard that they made this song as a tribute to Justin Sane (former bass player for them) because he attempted suicide.

This song needs a music video with a billion views

This song still brings tears to my eyes. When I heard that Jimmy had died, I burst in to tears. He's my idol, as a drummer who's been playing for 8 years he was my biggest influence, like ever. I've got a load of remembrance posters and Rev posters/A7X paintings on my walls in my room haha. I listened to this song like straight after, and just couldn't stop crying. Every time it reminds me of that moment. It reminds me of what an amazing person he was. I usually end up watching the 'So Far Away' music video after haha.  R.I.P Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan 28.12.2009
