  • Jones was hitting DC like DC was the mother of his children.
  • DC was no pushover, for 8 years older and smaller he brought the fight to Jon, classic fight
  • The amazing thing was how Jones set that headkick up. He attacked the body a lot in this fight with body shots, kicks and knees. Even with that headkick, he was initially looking at DC's body which is what threw DC off as he moved his arms to block a body kick which left his head wide open. Jones is an incredibly creative and dangerous fighter with physical gifts but his fight IQ is what sets him apart from everyone!

It was such poetry to see Cormier be the aggressor, pressing forward offensively the entire match, only to get caught with a defensive kick, which subsequently forced Cormier to retreat, stumbling in the final seconds. He went from the hunter to the hunted with one fell swoop.
  • The way Jones chased down DC after that head kick is damn scary..... Killer instinct .

Jon's technical striking ability is absolutely unbelievable, the way he picks his shots and strategically wears you down is so good to watch, very clever
  • I am in awe of the 12 inch reach differential between these two. DC showed moments of greatness in this fight.
  • Daniel was 5” shorter, and 8 years older. I think he did pretty good!

"As long a u never quit, it's never over" -Jones I need this line

You know how scary that had to have been for Cormier after that head kick? Trying to get away but he’s right there just rocking your shit😂😂
  • So impressive to see John act that way in the end. He felt sorrow for DC all he could look at was him after the fight and you can see in johns eyes he was also heartbroken. Very sportsmanlike

DC's boxing looked so good in this fight. It was impressive how he was able to close the distance and land good punches with a considerable height and reach disadvantage. Ultimately this fight came down to JJ's IQ. Jones was losing the fight but making reads and setting traps throughout the bout.

Man, those last scenes are heartbreaking, very sad to see DC in tears, but what a class act from Bony. Great warriors, giants, gladiators...
  • I remember the end. He saw Jones tear up whilst he was giving his speech and went over and kissed his head. Real sportsmanship right there.
  • Honestly both one of their best fights and the love for the game at the end was beautiful when that kick to end it was literally as brutal as it cudve been
  • Watching this back you really see how every single strike they threw was thrown with bad intentions Such a great rivalry.
  • The little leg sweep there that completely sent DC off balance was a thing of beauty, absolutely surgical. When fighters get rocked or are wobbly, the opponent often just thinks about landing those key follow-up shots to the head and go head hunting or for a takedown to secure the advantage. But when guys are a little out of it, a simple kick to the leg or foot sweep is super effective because they are trying to find their feet and regain their senses...so moves that normally wouldn't mess them up can send them tripping backwards onto themselves...and give you that surefire advantage you were looking for after rocking them.

DC has always been a force to be reckoned with when he lands a punch - doesn’t even have to be perfect - you know it’s making the opponent regret being there! He’s such a warrior and a brick wall he takes and takes and keeps it going! Legend 🙌🏼

I'd rather be feared than loved lol...what a classic
