lol so your “lazy trick” is really just don’t be lazy and lube your air tools like you’re supposed to.

Yo the ratchet usually never fails. Now the air motor or cam mechanism no that can go bad. You need to put an unholy amount of air tool oil into the tools air inlet so it really saturates the insides of the air motor. It's not spinning because the air motor is dry as fuck and dirty so it locked up.

Take it apart and clean it. Make sure it's lubed well after reassembly. All you really need is air tool oil through the air fitting.

Had a very solid lesson on Teflon tape from old heads in the trade. I was 18 and training as a machinist it will stick in your head. For RH threads. 1.Part in your left hand. 2.Tape in your right. 3.tape tail headed clockwise 4. ALWAYS wrap away from you

Oh so putting air tool oil in your air tool helps the air tool. Who would have thought
-
If you oil your air tools on the regular like you are supposed to this never happens.
-
I was waiting for it to break free and send that adjustable to the moon

Automatic Transmission fluid works well to clean and lubricate air tools. It also keeps the seals from drying out
-
Uh, just take it apart. Duh... Clean the mica vanes, oil, and check for wear. Order new vanes, if excessive wear. Dirt, hangs the vanes up. Dirt and oil, can stop a vane motor.

It will be frozen back up in a day

I didn't realize that fixing an air ratchet would be such a controversial video 😂
-
I didn't even know air ratchet existed until now
-
I didn’t know people still used air ratchets. Milwaukee baby⚡️
-
I usually just squirt some pb blaster down the air intake and on anything else that moves and kinda beat on it a little bit. Usually works lol
-
Tbh, I hate air rachets. They are one of the most useless tools I own all because of the stupid hose gets caught on every thing
-
Old grease goes hard like rubber after a while. Take it apart and just clean it ya heathen! 😁👍
-
I accidently dropped mine and it worked perfectly fine after that.

Oil will help old dirty seals "work" for a limited time. Eventually, it will stop working again. It needs to be broke down and cleaned before the grit eats it down to the rebuild point.

Compressor is probably a water storage tank

My dad never lubes his air tools and it drives me nuts
