California's Park Fire grows to 300K acres, destroys homes, forces evacuations

Publicado 2024-07-27
The Park Fire has burned 307,369 acres as of Saturday morning with still no containment. The fire grew exponentially late Friday into Saturday morning due to steep terrain and high winds. The fire has forced evacuations in multiple Northstate counties.

At least 134 structures have been destroyed, according to Cal Fire's Incident updates. So far, there have been no injuries or fatalities reported.

Thousands of people have had to pack up and leave their homes. Clay Ferguson lost his home in the fire, but said he was able to save all the animals from his nearby business.

Where I live a fire like that could never be stopped, we don't have what it takes. . They have a hard time with 100 acres. May God be with you all

California needs to stop people from starting these fires.

It is good to hear something for the animals...they are often over looked.

Tree management to thin out these properties is lacking. This should have been better managed for the last 40 years. Its been ignored for way too long and now we are suffering the consequences. No management from Sacramento. Sacramento has kicked this can down the road far to long.
  • PREVENTATIVE measures would be FAR LESS EXPENSIVE than fighting these massive fires. Cut down the scrub brush. Trees will survive grass fires but not scrub brush fires.

This is the scariest thing ive ever seen coming right at my family's farm...😢
  • I just found out my daughter and her mothers house made it through the fire in Cohasset. It was in the middle of the burned zone. Until the fire is out, though, it's not completely out of danger.
  • @BigDaddyKai620
This is why we regularly burn fields in the Midwest to prevent a large fire

He only currently has one charge 451(c) Arson: Forest fire punishable by a maximum of of 6 years. Hopefully they charge him with more crimes. This is absolutely tragic, I pray for all involved.

The county needs to hire sheep herds it would save homes and peoples lives! It would be cheaper than fighting a fire of this size! Something to think about and people need to do a 500 foot defensible space around any buildings

I have actually seen some comments which actually defend the suspect in this horror. Unbelievable. He has committed a crime against us all.
