How to Make Cuban Style Shrimp

Shrimp Cocktail (Cuban Style)
Prawn cocktail, also known as shrimp cocktail, is a seafood dish consisting of shelled, cooked prawns in a Marie Rose sauce or cocktail sauce, served in a glass. Instead of using a glass platter, I used Plantain Bananas fried and shaped like little bowls.

INGREDIENTS:
Shelled Shrimps (Pre-cook it quickly in a boiling water. Seasoned with Salt and Water)
Diced Cucumber
Diced Cherry Tomatoes
Diced Red Onion
Salt
Pepper
Cilantro
Sweet Relish
Salsa
Cocktail Sauce
Garlic Powder
Lime (Juice)
Plantain Bananas
Cooking Oil

SHRIMP COCKTAIL PREP:
- In a bowl, put all the diced Cucumber, Red Onion, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Sweet Relish, Salsa, Cocktail Sauce (Add the Salsa / Cocktail Sauce to Taste) and the cooked Shelled Shrimp.
- Season it with Salt, Pepper, and Garlic powder. (If you want to make it spicy add Chili flakes, Spicy Peppers)
- Squeeze in some Lime Juice.
- Mix it well until all is incorporated together and cover with plastic.
- Place in Refrigerator to keep it cool and take it out when ready to serve.

PLANTAIN PREP:
- Peel the Plantain Bananas and cut into 2 inch pieces.
- Prepare a pot with cooking oil.
- Fry the Plantain Pieces until semi-soft and brownish in color.
- Using a Lemon/Lime squeezer tool, place a plastic liner to avoid sticking the banana piece to the squeezer.
- Press the squeezer until the banana is formed into a bowl shape.
- Fry it a second time to make the banana bowls crunchy.

PLATING:
- In a plate, lay some lettuce down to help hold the banana bowls. Add the plantain bowls and then put some the Shrimp Cocktail inside of it.
- Place some of the shrimp on top of each.
- Garnish withe some tomatoes and cilantro.
- Serve the Shrimp Bowls and ENJOY !!!
