We heard about a 1977 Granada with a low miles, but several mechanical issues. We wanted to build a ride that looks like a Sunday driver… but runs like a Super Stocker when you open up the throttle! We’ll give it a stroked 347ci Small Block Ford, valvetrain that will turn 8000 RPM, and a shot of nitrous for BIG power. Then… we take our 500+hp Sleeper to the streets!

You started with probably the nicest Granada coupe still in existence, and the results are pretty doggone fantastic.
  • @texknight67
I really like it when you release these full builds. Instant gratification.
  • @georgejensen339
They hit the nail on the head when they mentioned Maverick.
  • @alansmith2359
On a C4, upshift point is accomplished by turning the adjustment screw inside the modulator at the back of the transmission. If you need more adjustment range, replace the modulator rod with a different length. Wonderful episode. Loved it.
  • @ryantinney
I think Pat still has some room in that shirt pocket for more pens and items.
  • I loved every aspect of this build, it was nothing flashy like a mustang or a camaro and it was a completely unique perspective on what a sleeper can be. Well done pat and frankie, hope to see you guys do more builds like this!
  • @delux68
If you're looking for a Rockauto commercial with a bit of Ford Granada thrown in, you've come to the right place!
  • @aguyinnc2865
Absolutely love this build! More Ford projects please!
  • This was a fun one. You couldn't ask for a better sleeper candidate and we can tell the guys had fun doing those little extras to keep it looking like grandma's church car. It was unique too. There are only so many Camaros, Mustangs, and Chargers you can see before you start feeling like you're watching reruns. Cool series and a damn cool car.
  • @BaddAtom
my first car was a '79 Granada. Worked all summer at 16 to make the $650. Loved that car! had electric windows, seat, sunroof, factory cb radio, 8 track. The 302 smoked a little but it was a champ, I did multiple 500 mile road trips.
  • In 1977, my boss man at work had a new Granada. I was taking night classes after work at a community college 20 miles away. My car was having reliability problems and he was kind enough to offer his new Granada to me so I wouldnt miss classes. Though I only used it two times, that Granada was a very nice car! It was smooth, quiet and comfortable! I had no idea that it was underpowered because I babied it and treated it with respect! Im happy that you folks decided to save and upgrade that somewhat obscure model Ford, Great job!
  • @Stevgar2
My 1st car when I was 16 back in '06 was a 1976 Granada Ghia 2 door. It had a 302 2bbl with a C4 & open 8" after I was done building it in my shop class (dad was the teacher) it had a mild 351W 4bbl , stage2 rebuilt C4 with a 2800 stall torque converter & a GM posi track. God I miss that car, this vid hits the heart strings
  • @sftynet9440
Fellas that's a GREAT build !! No turbo, no juice ! DAM !
  • @daveruble5150
Watching this REALLY made me appreciate the genius of Derek from VGG! STEP 1: check the boot and cabin for parts.
  • @CJ-wc6lf
My parents had a tan 1977 Ford Granada in the early 1980s, and I'll never forget it with good memories as the first car I ever remember my parents having
  • @ronald5439
I graduated 🎓 high school in1979. This was the car your parents drove not something a teen wanted .I have to admit it has aged well and I would love to have one 😎
  • @MarkK01
Watching Pat and Frankie working together is awesome. Even though Pat has a lot more experience then Frankie there is no ego flexing going on. Frankie does know his stuff even though he is quite a bit younger then Pat. I think the knowledge between the two compliments each other.
  • Owned a stock white '80 Ghia in the mid '80s. Enjoyed everything about it. Had to give it up after I got married. Would have put in a 390 built up to a 454 if I'd kept it. Wanted to replace the stock mags an with a set of Ford 15" Continental ones that looked like the originals. With some low profile tires it would have kept the stock appearence. I will be watching more of your videos.
  • @rob1129
I can't believe that car was that clean & just sitting in a field !
  • A 1977 Ford Granada base model was my very first new car. Straight 6, 4 speed manual overdrive, after market air conditioner. Wish I still had it! Great on gas, smooth ride, quiet, quality build.
