See the complete walkthrough of how we create a 3D phone model, light it, animate it, and sync it with audio to create a professional advertisement. The entire process will happen in Blender 2.8 and be rendered completely with the brand new EEVEE real-time render engine.

Feel free to use your own models or try it with a different product. This tutorial will cover the basics behind setting up a product animation and the theories behind lighting and animation.

Hey, everyone, I am getting this question a LOT and it was a poor decision on my part but: the FIRST STEP where I take the cube and scale it down to zero will leave you with DUPLICATE VERTICES! If you do not then right click > merge by distance then you WILL HAVE 'DOUBLES' (vertices on top of each other) which will cause failure in many of the subsequent steps (bevel especially.) This was a silly thing I did in an effort to save our beloved default cube but it has caused more trouble for you all that it was worth! Follow the steps above (seen in video but not given much attention) OR, DELETE the default cube and add a plane, and work with that!

His secret, not deleting the default cube.

The voice, the peacefulness and the random little playful tone and quotes; this feels like a Bob Ross Painting episode, but CG focused. I like it!

God bless you Derek! Your engaging, yet astonishingly information-packed tutorials are truly helping many of us grow as artists. While difficult at times to keep up, I always look back afterwards and realize how much more comfortable I am with the concepts and the software. Keep it up!

Holy crap. Not only is this one of the best Blender videos I've seen (I've seen many. Oh dear God I've seen many), but you are legit one of the most entertaining people I've ever listened to. Finding this channel was one of the best things that happened to me all week, you're the man, man.

Hi Derek. Yep - please keep the long tutorials. There are plenty of bite-size tutorials out there to pick up tips and tricks, but with yours, we get a fuller understanding of the overall workflow and a full project to work with. Excellent stuff - learning loads :)

Every blender tutorial I just skip through and try to find what I'm looking for. This video I can literally watch at normal speed and take in everything, it's so patient and relaxed. You're so talented at Blender and communicating your knowledge thank you for this!

Thanks Derek for taking me up from a level 10 blender enthusiast to being able to produce some passable work that at least I can show my mum. I've been following online tutorials for a while with great improvement in my output but I've taken a huge leap after following yours. Great stuff and thanks for the leap forward.
