We should probably explain how we got to this point. Since we took three cheap cars to a track day, the obvious next step was to take on the world of motorsport.
There’s one big problem, motorsport is EXPENSIVE. A season of Formula 2 would cost you about £2,000,000, a year of GT racing would cost you £400,000, but Lawn Mower racing costs LESS than £2000 for a full season (and that includes the mower!).
So to give Lawn Mower Racing a go, we’re going to do some practice on the fastest class of lawnmowers before doing a 20 minute race with 35 mowers on track - we’ve been thrown well and truly in the deep end.
So we headed to Dorking for the final round in the British Lawnmower Racing Championship, where Callum had a confession to make. Why has this one got your name on it?
Scott and I were just trying to get our heads around the mowers when we were interrupted by an important announcement.

a couple years ago i was at a lawnmover race where they used 4 cylinder bike engines. that was mental to watch.

Lawnmower racing has always looked like loads of fun but As I get older, I can literally feel the pain just thinking about trying to drive these with pace. You guys should try doing a rally Cross race next.

The difference in attitude to this from you guys compared to when The Skid Factory and Benny gave it a go is a hilarious contrast between British mindsets and the Aussie mindset. I love the combination of fear and competitiveness that Scott jumped in with - definitely a good sport. Great video!

that's kinda how they felt at the formula 1 back in the 50's, I don't see much difference between those lawn mowers and the old cars, perhaps the lawn mowers are safer!

Callum put an MX-5 into a bush and came out the other side on a lawn mower. Will looks like he's straight out of the 1950's with that helmet and goggles.
