Brian Greene is a theoretical physicist, mathematician, an author and the Director of Columbia University’s Centre for Theoretical Physics.

Nothing short of fascinating stuff today with one of the most popular public physicists of our age. Brian is an absolute titan. Expect to hear answers to some of the biggest and most fundamental questions we have.

What happens if the universe is infinite? When will time end? What is time? What is the relationship between entropy and evolution? What do people get wrong about the Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum physics? Just how finely tuned for life is our universe? Why does the Planck Scale exist? Is there such a thing as meaning in a universe which doesn't care if we live or die? How will ultra-advanced civilisations behave in the future?

  • Brian Greene is so well spoken. Highly recommend the audiobooks he has written and reads aloud

" The universe is 14 billion years old, every single particle in your body has been selected over all that time to come together and create you, you are as old as all of time...don't screw it up now. " Some random ironworker in Texas

I read “The Elegant Universe” about 7 times cover to cover. Brian Greene is a national treasure.
  • @hifibrony
It is impossible to listen to Brian Greene and not walk away smarter.
  • I love conversations like this! Using our “God given brains,” to try and understand the complexity of life around us, past present and future. All glory to God!
  • Well done for getting these guests! I am a big fan of Greene as he can simplify very complex problems so even an idiot like me can understand (sort of) them.

Another wonderful conversation! Thank you, Chris! You’re a great interviewer on such a diverse range of topics. Impressive! Keep going. The world needs you! This channel will go far. 🤗

Watched so much of Brian Greene speaking... always epic but this one is extra rich and wildly imaginative! Freestyle baby!! I’m gonna revisit this many times just to soak up the beauty of such ideas. Thank you for taking my mind off the troubles of this world for a moment... you’re both gifts to humanity!
  • Time is a way to track the limitations that mankind places on reality. Just as speed and distance are limitations to the infinity of space. This is a wonderful dialogue, I thank you for being so open minded.

The topic that got me in the feels is the of emotion being, Guilty! I am constantly being told I am too intense or "don't laugh that hard" " it ain't worth all that" etc because most people post covid are miserable. and havent smiled like I do in a very long time and that sucks so much. I want my kind of happiness for everyone.

To be quite honest, this is probably one of the most important podcasts ive ever heard in my life. Although ive heard these vastly important theories before, this podcast is just so well put together it truly brings forth the magnitude of these ideas and has a profound effect on my personal sense of humanity and existence. Thank you both for blowing our minds!
  • I do so agree that less emotion, we would not have evolved as we have. We would not have discovered and understand what we have. Reaching a sort of balance of emotion, will bring us closer to understanding our world. Just MY thoughts
  • @epicbehavior
Science isn’t in the position to tell us what things are. It can only tell us what things do.
  • Was about to go to bed but think if I smoke another joint I'll be perfectly stoned enough to comprehend this
  • If the concept of " if you wait long enough, anything that can happen will," then surely another universe emerging from nothing is inevitable.
  • Love Brian Greene....such a brillaint host and writes very easy to digest books too...currently reading his "Until the end of time'...Not math/physics heavy enough for me...but his writing was brilliant put together...he has some excellent metaphors for life..
  • @TheDhammaHub
Thankfulness for all those things we take for granted really is a powerful tool!
