Oh my god 😳 i have been listening to the podcast for 2 years now and from the pics on the show notes, I always thought Ashley was brit and vice versa. I had never seen them on video before, guess reading the names under the pics would’ve helped, but my mind was set for some reason lol
  • I know they said anger and power are why people kill, but what about fear? Do these subtypes only apply to those who don't have severe mental health issues? Or can they apply to mentally disordered offenders?

(46:00) If i think about this, the first time one has sex it's the most intimate you've ever been with another person. I'd even say the first few times. I clearly remember the first few times I had sex and I also remember the first time with each different partner. If i apply the sexual sadist label to that sentence i fully understand why the perpetrator would hold those victims closer. Those were intimate moments for the perpetrator, likely the most intimate he'd ever been with a person before (in his way, intimacy in his way). It explains a lot. The question of why I would speak about it is much harder to answer, bragging wouldnt work for me. If I was helping a girl setting out in her sex life and she had questions about her emotions and sexual intimacy, yes, i would help. Perhaps we could apply this reasoning to the sexual sadist, although for me the number of victims above one is almost irrelevant, one is too much, my question is always why.
