  • Most women (like me) would rather have a private bathroom than a huge closet. Maybe build a wardrobe on one side, but keep the bathroom!
  • When I bought my first house my parents (Portuguese) said to live in it 6 months to a year before making major repairs. I'm so glad I listened! It was an old abandoned house (in the USA) and our #1 project was to tear down the ugly screened in porch that honestly looked like a chicken coop. I HATED it! Well, the day before it was supposed to come down, it rained buckets. My husband brought in the grill from outside, we set up a table, and enjoyed our delicious grilled steaks while listening to the patter of rain. It was awesome! So instead of tearing down that ugly porch, we did some work to it (mostly cosmetic), and enjoyed many years of parties, dinners, and just relaxing out there in the summer. What a huge (and expensive) mistake it would have been to tear it down!

Never used a bidet. They are not common in Canada. Your place is huge. You and your dad will do an amazing job on renovating it. Keep the bathroom in the master bedroom.

So happy to see you back Alex, I hope you and your family are well and happy. Speaking for myself, A lady, I would never forgive you if you remove the en-suite bathroom. 🙄

Wow, that place is HUGE! It is more like a palace than a house, Alex!! Can't wait to see what you do with all that space!
  • I grew up and still live in Argentina and we grew up with the bide. It is a little different in that ours have a spray in the middle of the bottom, unlike yours that has a pointed little spicket at the end/start of the bide. The question is always asked, How di you sit on it? looking forwards or backwards? the answer is BOTH, whatever you want to clean will tell you which way to sit. We also have a little lever that closes off the sprinkler/sprayer and as a toilet the rim of the bide runs the water. This way it can be used to clean feet or wash clothes, such as a sweater or underware. Well I hope that is enough information to make you curious about the bide and want to use it. I also keep a small towel hanging right there so I an dry myself after use. Good luck. I do think you have chosen a lovely home. I like large rooms with large windows which is not common in POrtugal. Usually the bedrooms do not have windows and nothing more than a bed fits in them. This seems very well planned. Are you planning to live with your parents or do they have another home? On another subject, since you no longer will be a farmer what other carrier are you planning in order to support yourself?

Wow, it's a really big property with loads of potential, I can see why you bought it. Loads of work, but loads of possibilities as well. It's amazing that it was left for so long.👍

As a woman I would never think of replacing bathroom with walk in closet. I would probably do the opposite.
  • Hi Alex I am so glad to see you are back for awhile I though you had gone back to your country I am so please that you and your family are in my beautiful country and this vila is amazing but when you mentioned that you were removing the bath room to convert it into a closet I almost cried with disappointment because it,s so important to have a master bathroom it will add more value to the house closet space I am sure you will find it somewhere else please rethink it again before you destroy that because washroom what a beautiful place you have there.good luck with your renovations

Wow, Alex! It looks like it's in great condition for having been empty for so long. It will be a beautiful property for you and your parents to live in.

A solid attractive house not too much work, more changes to suit ones tastes, the bathrooms need some attention, the kitchen a full makeover. The gardens are the majority required work. All is easy if you have the time and skills. Love it. 💗
  • ¿Are you sure is abandoned? That huge and beautyful house just needs some minor repairs, a professional painting, a very good clean up and it's ready to move in to take care of the abandoned lawn yard and gardens, the pool and that's it. If you change anything to this beautiful house, you're going to dilapidate money and ruin it and don't deserve it. You bougth a treasure, treat her like a treasure. If I were the owner I could live there really happy the rest of my life planting fruit trees and muy food, have a chicken coop, to raise a couple young horses, a couple cows to milk and of course, a couple of Golden Retrievers. Congratulations, you're going to live my dream in this property
  • Good to see you back Alex and you have purchased a beautiful home there and those views of the countryside is truly amazing. Looks like not so much work to be done in the main house in the main bedroom the bathroom I would leave it as it is just give the cupboards a bit of a tart up and build wardrobes in the bedroom . I hope your Dad’s heath has now improved and gets to help you out with your new home . Thanks for showing us through the new home and looking forward to the next videos.
  • @jomarra29
Glad you and dad are back. Love the new house.
  • @robine916
Beautiful property, so much potential. I especially love all the mature fruit trees💕💕
  • Nice piece of land, Alex. House looks is great shape too. A kitchen update, maybe open it up to livingroom with dining area. But keep all bathrooms. I couldn't visualise where your dining area was going to be added actually. A woman would also appreciate a bathroom in the master bedroom, maybe down size that big bathroom but add walk-in closet for clothing in the same area as a separate room. ( I've always thought some bathroomswere too big anyway). Oh my that pool will need a lot of work but I have faith, you can do it! Yard is so hugh you'll have it in shape. I'd also make one of those outside rooms a guesthouse maybe the one your using as your kitchen with bedroom, its already done for you just clean, paint, decorations wait for guest. Looking forward to how you and papa will be doing your make overs repairs. Keep on keeping on
  • A beautiful property! Some of the storage areas turn into Airbnb seasonal, good income helper. The lower part of the land would be perfect for orchard and big vegetable garden.Looking forward to watching your projects develop.
