I was called into the pre-draft back when we still had conscription in Sweden. Physique test, IQ test, physical, interview, the whole shebang. The interview with the recruiter was the final hurdle before going to basic training. The first thing he asks me is "do you want to do this?" I told him "no, not really" and he said "OK, I'll just put you in the reserves then" and sent me home. One of the best days of my life, to be honest.

If we can automatically register people for the draft, we can certainly automatically register people for to vote. This country’s priorities are completely messed up.

As a professional Soldier who spent 22 year active duty, I agree with LTC Gabbard, and am wholeheartedly against conscription. However, in the name of equality and equity, if a man has to do it, so do women.

As a fellow Army vet, I oppose the draft just as Tulsi does.

Two big surprises. I wouldn't have thought that Tulsi Gabbard would defend Julian Assange and I wouldn't have thought Maher would attack him even less. She's right of course.
