It's about time I did a #HazbinHotel song! To be honest, I wasn't even sure if I was allowed to do this, since I'm the singing voice of #Alastor in the pilot, but Viv said she loved it, so I guess it's ok?... Nate and I wrote this song in about 8 hours! It was one of those songs that kinda wrote itself! I showed up to his house at noon, and by 9:00pm we were wrapping up recording!

HELLO DDR'S (Dedicated Description Readers)!!
I really hope you like this song! IDK if you've ever watched Hazbin Hotel but it's basically a show about life in hell. This song is about the character Alastor, who is a very powerful demon. He was a DJ in the 1920's and ALSO a serial killer. I like to think that the power he has in hell is proportionate to the amount of unspeakable crimes he committed on earth, but IDK if that's canon. Anyway, this song takes place at the moment of his death on earth and subsequent arrival in hell. He quickly begins to accept his fate, come into his power, and he even meet's an old "friend" from earth. I'm sure Alastor's friend is happy to see him too!... ;-)
ANYWAY, enough about the song! I just got back from a week-long trip to LA for a super-secret thingy... I promise I'll give you more details when I can. It was pretty intense, but Claire and I had a blast in my off time! We met up with a bunch of friends, ate a bunch of food, and even went to Disney Land! We wanted to see the Avengers Campus but there was a four-hour line just to GET IN!! So we road the Incredicoaster, Sorin, and Cars instead.

I'm so stupid, I didn't even realize Black Gryph0n did the singing voice for Alastor in the Pilot episode so I was like "damn this is a really good Alastor impression" not realizing it IS the original VA for Alastor! Well, Alastor's singing voice. The original VA was Edward Bosco. Anyway I'm really sorry Black Gryph0n for not recognizing it sooner, you're amazing as always, keep up the good work!

God, this song embodies Alastor's character so well. Someone who's so manically energetic and caught up in his own showmanship that he bulldozes over everyone, only acknowledging them for how much their pain can entertain him. And just when a glimpse of humanity emerges, it's swallowed up by the act again so you're never sure if it's genuine or not.

I was talking to a friend about the fact Alastor didn't get his own song in season 1. He pointed out Alastor got a song in the pilot. I'm still excited to see what he gets in season 2 (hopefully not being a part of someone else's song).

If this song has any canonical ideas in it, it certainly gets the theorizing gears cranking, especially since Black Gryph0n is someone who probably has worked in some capacity with the writers of Hazbin Hotel being the singing voice actor.

I like the idea of someone like Alastor getting sent to hell, quickly grasping what's happened and seeing the possibilities and opportunities. He embraces it and that is probably why he becomes so powerful, for someone like him getting sent to hell and becoming a demon is not damnation, its a promotion.
