I love the fact that Scorched's part aligns perfectly with the 5 stages of grief. Denial: "I don't care if I have fallen from my grace, I will not be replaced" Anger: "Just see yourself in my shoes, they don't know what'd they lose, since they all taunt me" Bargaining: "If I'll go through this pain, he'll be right by my side, strapped to the same chain" Depression: "The world needs a hero, not some complete utter zero, can't copy my looks and expect a prize or a big reward" Acceptance: "I know there's no hope, I'll forever be a beast, but all I ask is for my name to not be forgotten"

There were a lot of hard hitting and catchy lyrics!! You and Maimy did so great, and Zac did Scorched so wonderfully and expressively. And all the art was super wonderful as well. Thank you for having me on as Hog!! Glad I helped out

I like this song because it’s about someone who’s identity has been robbed, to the point where they’d do anything to get it back, to where he will keep trying just to get to where he was before. He doesn’t have evil intentions like the other exes. He just doesn’t want to be replaced. He wants his spotlight again. The “faker” took everything from him. His friends are dead due to the merge. Yet sonic (scorched) thought hog killed them. Him all alone obviously grew a hatred for him and seeing that he took his spotlight as-well made hog what he is. A broken soul who has nothing to lose. He’d do anything to beat that “cursed hedgehog”.

This is by FAR my favorite song in the vs.EXE soundtrack, and Scorrched's lore having him delete and corrupt the game at the end of it would've made a perfect meta Segway into him deleting the mod folder from your PC since he's one of, if not the last song you do. And the other exes being referenced in his corrupted sprites and lyrics shows that they are all in the same game/folder since his assets are being pulled from them, so him deleting the entire thing would've been such a poetic way to send off the mod. 11/10, will have this on repeat for 5 hours

I love that the six other EXEs that he shifts into are paired off between "Terrors beyond the void causing misery for the fun of it" and "Earth-born entities that do whatever they can to alleviate their own misery (even if Fatal isn't exactly a ghost like the others)" It's like his mind is being torn between not just getting revenge as Scorched and doing what he knows is right as Sonic, but metaphysically to try and see where on the scale he falls and if he'll be happy with that reality. Also that tiny little "not again..." from Hog as Scorched starts barging in was like an emotional jumpscare.

I love how when Scorched takes over he starts with the usual Sonic laugh but then it descends into a new sinister, demonic laugh. It also represents the character for obvious reasons, but also because Scorched seems like he tried to live with just being Sonic and being forgotten. After he realized he didn't want that, Scorched took his anger and revenge out on Hog's world, descending into madness.

I like how every “replacement” had a line to suit them “Built my prison” “Spinning round” “locked in a cage” “Target locked” “Don’t pursue” “Turn the page and start a new” This part is an edit but also notice how the text changes depending on the singer Dark Purple = Zephaniah Light purple = needlemouse/Sarah Blue for exterion Red for fatal error and/or furnace

quick fact: when scorched glitches, the cartridge is frying up

love how Hog is just singing and having fun, even using spin attacks to keep the song interesting, then Scorched is just saying "HE TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME" repeatedly.

Manual Blast begins sounding like a basic level-in-world-1 theme. Then after Hog transforms, it sounds like a final boss theme. Or intense battle music in a movie. And it hits pretty hard.

I love the use of backing vocals during the glitching part, actively swapping between not just lyrical references to past covers Sayo and Maimy arranged, but the actual voices of Lord X, Sarah, Fatal, X-terion, and Xenophanes. Giving that section the context of Scorched slipping from ungodly rage to absolute despair makes it hit extra hard

I just love how instead of scorched sounding like some evil pretense he is just a corrupted and broken villain that wants his old life that was taken by hog

alright, at one point in this sea of 914 comments i saw people being confused on why Xeno’s vocals were with the line “turn the page and start anew..” time to theorize to explain why Xeno, probably, sung this line: so as some people know, Xeno is the “new”/Vs. Sonic.EXE version of the Original Sonic.EXE (2011 X), so like Scorched, Sonic.EXE had to “turn the page and start anew” with his life so uh, yea
