*I wanted to finish what I started. When I first made this video, it was terribly made, just gonna say it how it is. It was my first time ever making something like this. The second time I made it (the "remaster") I got comments and even noticed myself that there were still many errors left and that I had not learned from my mistakes. So, this time I did what had to be done and I sat through this entire video looking carefully at all the text for each song to know what errors needed to be fixed for this version. I counted upwards of 50+ errors in that second version and fixed all of them in this version. Looking through the video took hours and I hope that I found every possible mistake that was in that older video. I double checked and came back with the same amount of errors. It is possible that there are still some errors (I'd say LESS THAN 5 TOTAL) in this version as I have literally critically analyzed this video from start to finish. I made sure the dates are all correct, the artists are represented correctly, and that the title of the songs are correct as well. I think I can confidently say that this version is probably the best video of every #1's you'll see on YouTube right now. However, that doesn't take away from all the other channels that have made similar content to mine, they all did amazing jobs!

As for 2023, oh boy was it interesting for #1s.... I don't have much to say but what I can say is that people need to really stop hating on a certain group of artists. At the end of the day, it's just music and all these #1s from 2023 have been at least okay. NONE have even been close to the worst songs ever recorded...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every single #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from the very beginning up until this past week.
From the weeks of Aug 4. 1958 to Jan 6. 2024, there have been over 1,100 songs to have graced the top spot for at least one week. This video is a compilation of all of those songs; from the very beginning to the present.
Music has really changed over the past decades, and this is represented within this video. It is really interesting and entertaining to see which songs have reached #1 within the US.
This is the biggest video I have ever worked on, and rightfully so. I have the spreadsheet for every #1 linked below so that you can check it out. I also have the biggest hit of each year since some weren't in this video due to them never reaching #1.
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it very much. If you made it this far and through the whole video, I congratulate you.
Have a fun 2024.
    Thanks for making this video. This is a great journey of music through time. I'd love to see a video done for the #1 songs of the Best Sellers in Stores charts for July 1940-July 1958 which from what I've read is considered the true test of a song's popularity prior to the Hot 100.
    While it is mentioned that Dexy's Midnight Runners Come on Eileen kept Michael Jackson from having back to back #1 hits with Billie Jean and Beat it in 1983, there is also a possibility that in 1978, Player's Baby Come Back, and Andy Gibb's Love is Thicker than Water, kept The Bee Gees from having back to back to back #1 hits with How Deep is Your Love, Stayin' Alive, and Night Fever. Also, in 1979, maybe Anita Ward's Ring My Bell kept Donna Summer from having back to back #1 hits with Hot Stuff and Bad Girls.
    Man, what I wouldn't give for a long version of this.
  • @CentralPALocos
    Getting through the late 80s is a real slog. I can’t believe the public put songs like that at #1 instead of other songs at the time like sowing the seeds of love from tears for fears
  • @laurieannegagnon
    It's funny cause I was born in 93 and from the 80s to the 2010s I got progressively more and more nostalgic xD
