I was a little girl in the 70’s, growing up during that time was a gift from the Lord. There’s never been any History that combined. Dr. Pepper, Zero bars, 1 cent bubble gum and summers full of the scent of honeysuckle and freshly mown lawns…green plums and watermelon. Windows up, cool wind blowing as you drift off to sleep. James Taylor, Jim Croce, The Eagles, Elton John…so many AWESOME songs. I have so many good memories that wake in me when I hear a song from any year in 1970. It brings back what I was doing when I heard Three Dog Night, Dr. Hook, Bread,…I find myself smilin’…when I hear something…Truly, THE good ol’ Days…I TREASURE IT.

How many of us believed in 1970 that music would always be this great? That music would always have notes and a melody, be played with musical instruments, and wouldn't require a lyric sheet to understand the words being sung?

  • 1970, I was eighteen, graduating, and exploring the world in my first car, a 1965 Ford Galaxy. Gas was only 30 cents a gallon. A hair cut was under two dollars.I filled up my car with three bucks.Music was great, and road trips were cheap and enjoyable, with these great tunes. thanks for the memories.
