Brands: DREO, Amazon Basics, Hurricane, Vornado, Black+Decker, Aigostar, Lasko, Comfort Zone, Simple Deluxe, Pelonis, Season’s Comfort, and Holmes. Fans compared for air volume (CFM), air speed (MPH), noise, energy consumption, fan tip over risk, ease of cleaning fan blade, and overall build quality.

I purchased all of the fans and the supplies and equipment used for testing the fans to ensure an unbiased review. So, thank you for supporting the channel!

After doing a lot of research for my own personal needs, i can say the world needs a Project Farm video for dehumidifiers
  • @GuardedDragon
I’ve absolutely no need for a fan. And yet there’s something soothing about watching on Sunday morning. Just good objective data. No one trying to sell me something. Your videos are comfy to watch. Thank you very much.

Thank you for being one of the only people on YouTube to give the distance you placed the sound meter from the sound source! Most people don't know how quickly sound drops off in the first 6 feet. We can now accurately compare how loud our fans are compared to the ones you tested.

Maaaaan…get out of my head!!! I’m literally sat here with my dusted up Lasko fan, browsing Amazon looking for a new stand fan for my bedroom…and HERE YOU COME TO SAVE THE DAY! Ordered a new Hurricane fan to keep me cool and stifle my tinnitus.
  • Just a heads-up for those looking to buy the Hurricane: it seems the model of Hurricane in this video is no longer made or sold. The new model (which looks exactly the same as the one in this video) has different air flow, velocity, power, adjustable height, and oscillation specs. Overall, the new model appears to be weaker than the old one, though it does state that it uses less power. The link in the description goes to the new model, not the one in this video.
  • Costco sells a $50 vornado that I have used and abused for years and it has been relentlessly reliable and durable.
  • The fan I have has been in my family for as long as I can remember (I'm almost 70) it has an Oil Cup I give it a few drops of oil every summer. It has a wooden frame and still works great 👍 thx for the great video, Todd !

Todd thanks for all the product testing and comparison you do for everyone. Back in 2015 I purchased a 16" oscillating fan from CVS $19.99 and it's still going strong. I clean it twice a year. Price wise things have changed, a lot. Keep up the good work..

I've had Vornado's for years. They basically last forever. Definitely worth it over cheap Walmart specials.
  • @gus473
    We're all YOUR fans! 😎✌️
  • I love my Vornado fan. Been working for over 10 years and runs almost constantly. No issues. Was not cheap, though.
  • My mom bought 2 small Vornado fans about 20 years ago. One of them died about 9 years later. I inherited the other and it is running right now. Not only does it have the best air speed, you can direct it with precision. If you don't want it to blow at you, it can blow near you without disturbing your documents.

I got a box fan at Dollar General a few months ago after moving in to a new place.. It was SO slow even on the highest setting. I think they cheaped out on the motor. My neighbor gave me one from the 90's and it pushed tons of air, even though the blade and box were the same size. Not all fans are equal!
  • @inositolRex
I got a brand new Vornado out of a Bed Bath and Beyond dumpster during Covid. Best fan I've ever owned.
  • @a41wilde57
Always good to see YouTubers to invite fans to their show
  • I have a Holmes oscillating fan I bought in 1994 for $27 at KMart. On high, it moves a lot of air but is loud! 30 years old and still going strong.
  • Maybe the best fans were all the subscribers you earned along the way. Thanks PF!
  • @levimluke
Need to do a box fan showdown. Add the Air King 9723 to the list. It’s not the quietest, but the sound it makes has the best low hum - great for sleepers who like to sleep with a fan.
  • Just for your information, most fans use a shaded pole motor and they vary the phase angle thus achieving different RPM under load. This is why you see mostly the same power usage on low and on high. The strator produces the same amount of magnetic field (thus requiring the same amount of power) but if the phase angle is too high it will have less torque. Less torque means lower achievable RPM under load. As an experiment you can remove the fan blade, and the measured RPM in all speed setting will be the same. The DREO one running from DC and it most likely has a BLDC motor + inverter.

You did it!! You listened to me😊 I asked you to do this a while ago!!! Thank you for listening to your followers you are the best
