A lot of pasta dishes use the pasta water to thicken the sauce as well. Once it cools down a bit, it can thicken up any sauce really. Another thing people do is save their pasta water and turn it into ice cubes to thicken up sauces lol. I've never done that but it sounds like a good idea. A ladle full of that into that sauce might be not be bad idea to thicken it up. Mayeb not with this dish though because the cream is there and the cheese.
