Trying to bikepack across the world can be pretty lonely, that's why I brought my dog, Mikoto along with me. She is a 10 month old Long haired Weimaraner, my best friend and companion. This is her story.

What a great dog! Zora does the same 20 km per day average, or 35 before a rest day. We don't use a trailer, it's not always ideal but we used to go backpacking together before I added a bike to our system. It's still easier than carrying a backpack lol.

What an awesome trip you two are taking. I've offered a place to stay if you are ever in the NYC area but might have to rescind. If my girl got her hands on Mikoto you might never get her back. (u/tudur)

The scenery behind you as your telling this story is off the charts. It's such a beautiful way to travel with a great companion. I wish I could do something like this in Thailand but with so many feral dogs here it would be a huge problem.

Have you had to deal with/train her prey drive in Mikoto? I heard Weimaraners can have pretty high ones. If so, how did you do it, e-collar training? Also, I'm sure you probably heard of them already, but I suggest following mira_la_perra on IG, one of the OG dogpackers. Fair winds on your journey together!
