Just to reiterate, the bolt holding this plate in place is a bugger to remove. It needed two of us to remove it, using a long spanner on the bolt to get enough purchase on the bolt to loosen it. The spindle has opposing flat sides, so I stopped it rotating by using a shifting spanner, while my neighbour Pete used both hands to remove it.
