I cut the end of my syphon hose to a point, pushed and spun it as I fed it in and it got over the lip and all the way into the tank. You gave me the idea at 0:41

uuuugh. literally my problem same vehicle. filled gas tank to brim yesterday, aftermarket pump fails today. getting one with a warranty this time

I had the same issue not being able to siphon. I managed to siphon it from the fuel filler by inserting the thin air hose into one of the two little holes next to the large fuel filler hole. This goes straight into the fuel. Edit: while I was waiting I shoved another thin tube into the normal fuel filler hole and it managed to find its way into fuel as well.
