I truly respect Tech cause he made a whole career without radio play or a mainstream machine pushing him and still won. It’s all about having the right team, work ethic, and business acumen to succeed
  • Slow and steady wins the race that’s how a Tech 9ine made more money than the average rapper in the music industry and owns his masters.
  • @Vamashara
It’s simple really; he did the number 1 rule everyone who makes the real big money does: You don’t chase a market, you create one. He didn’t chase acceptance from trying to fit in with the whole archetype rappers stereotype at the time, he built his own label, his own fan base, his own subculture, and he gained the respect not only from fellow rappers, but all sorts of musicians from other genres as well. That’s how you build long lasting success in business. Sticking to your vision and relying on your skills. Not chasing trends and quick small change.

I'm 35 I've been bumping Tech N9ne since the late 1990s. I remember back in those days he was super underground and would rap with a lot of Bay Area rappers. So many rappers from that era aren't around anymore but Tech kept going and it's amazing to see where he is today. He grinded hard for it and deserves all the success he has now. I also met him at the Orange Bowl in San Bernardino back in 2009. Super cool dude.

I'm not the biggest Tech N9ne fan but I have so much respect for him on a Hip Hop and business level. Not only does he collaborate with an enormous amount of people but he's always had his own sound and style. Like I said, I don't listen to his music all the time but I respect the hell out of the guy.
  • People forget very quickly for strange music to have grown and advance so quickly was the psychopathic records formula of the 90s and early 2000s and he has surpassed them (due to many choices that he smartly made over the years) Techs career is hall of fame worthy no doubt
  • @FlexRogers
I've done shows w/ Strange Music artists and their hustle is undeniable, they built a niche and often tour places other major label artists won't go, giving them a huge underground fanbase, and they grow with their fans, not just trying to chase trendy shit. Salute to you for giving them their flowers, every indy artist could learn from Tech N9ne's success.

KCMO native and i love how tech just loves his hometown and still lives here in Missouri. Tech is a smart man , no doubt

The thing about Kendrick is he didn't get him when Kendrick was famous. He literally gave Kendrick his props and flowers WAY before kendrick was known. So in a sense he "discovered" kendrick, outside of the LA music scene. Tech N9ne is a hip hoppers hip hop artist, meaning, he is old school about the love of the music. Which is why he is so successful also.

I feel like Tech N9ne really underrated he not talked about enough fr

  • Glad you telling this story.. it's important and inspiring to hear of those winning under the radar 💯
  • Heard Tech N9ne around the same time 50 cent came out and just by the talent and skill I could tell Tech N9ne's career would have much longer longevity. I was told I was crazy lol.
  • @AbdulAesthetics
Techn9ne was was on the breakfast club in 2014 or 2016 (can't remember exactly) and they asked him "why don't you sign to a major label🤔 His response was: "I REFUSE to get paid pennies for my work 👎🏾" ....that's all I needed to hear
  • @gequitz
That reminds me, you should do a vid on Snow Tha Product. Unlike most female rappers, she doesn't need to sell her body or soul and still makes great music.
  • @Seen-xp3ff
I served him at one of the restaurants i worked at. He's a great guy
  • @cairoglyphs
Much respect for your coverage of the music scene in my hometown KC and the hometown hero & living LEGEND, Tech N9ne!! 💯🙏🏾
  • @92alpha13
Tech was in one of 2 places. In the studio or on the road. Sometimes both. Tech worked efficiently, invested in his craft, and believed in himself. Been down since Anghellic.
  • I owe Tech a lot. When I started rapping, I was chopping without even knowing what it was. Someone said I sound like Tech N9ne; I said who’s that. He showed me the strange music website in 06 and I been rockin with the snake and bat ever since
