While driving home I get to watch a car hug the line and then cut off an unmarked police car. Watch what happens next. Karma?

Dashcam footage of my commute

The audio you hear in the background was playing on the radio while driving.

There seems to be comments from both sides of the aisle on this one.
Some say the cop is wrong. Others say the other guy was at fault.

Who is really in the right here?

  • The only thing I got from this video is that I really should consider getting LifeLock.
  • Who else sat there staring at every car rapidly cause you didn't know which was which? LMAO
  • @shadowman3591
I was expecting to see him swerve abruptly into his lane but the guy did signal I'll give him that. Granted he was too close
  • @themange59
I like how the cop car kept speeding up to stay in their blind spot, great police work!
  • He really wanted to get some action ... driving in that driver’s blindspot
  • @Vejarc7
Cop's like, "Sure! You can come into my lane. That's a $90.00 entry fee."
  • @jah0524
Cop was driving in that guy's blind spot. I was taught never to do that in driver's ed.

The one left in the center of the frame is the real culprit. The guy who got lit up was trying to avoid him. The cop was riding in the blind spot of the guy he lit up, too. I call bullshit all around.

If only that poor guy had lifelock ... he would have had peace of mind all year around with that 10% off!
  • @OWEN-CASH
Well, the cop was just sitting there in the other car's blind spot. He also sped up after the drive signaled for a lane change.
  • Let's see, the driver knows that the left lane is ending ahead and that the guy on his left who came up fast and passed him will have to merge, cutting him off. The cop also presumably knows this. Does the cop give him room to change lanes? No, the cop continues to crowd his blind spot because from the cop's perspective it's a win-win. Either the guy on the left cuts the guy in the middle off, forcing him to brake hard, which gives the cop reason to nail the guy on the left, or the guy in the middle pulls in front of the cop he may not even have seen and the cop nails him. Either way, more money in the city/county coffers and one less ticket on his quota to worry about.

IDENTITY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE, JIM!!! MILLIONS OF FAMILIES SUFFER EVERY YEAR!!!

Cop should have allowed car to move over instead of accelerating so they could not. You can even see the car in the middle lane try to slow down earlier to get behind the undercover, but cop kept changing speeds so the other person couldn't change lanes. Typically rude behavior from Johnny Law.
  • I cant believe my tax money is used to have someone joy ride around in a brand new Taurus with disco lights. 😟
  • @cleveriv5349
Cop contributed to the foreseeable situation. The cop also attempted to pass to the right after exit 6 despite having a free flowing far left lane (yes it was ending) and room to make the move safely with signals. Had he slowed he could have easily took the middle lane then far left to actually go on with his day even if it was merging in further down
  • Not gonna lie, the policeman was definitely just waiting for that to happen, since he was just camping out in the guy's blind spot.
  • The cop didn’t give him the way , driving in blindspot is not the safest thing to do ,even tho the sonata didn’t leave much space when changing lanes
