About FNF
Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple "weeks", each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.
During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player's bar, while missing notes causes the opponent's bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent's bar fills up the entire bar.
For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

In the credits if you listen very closely to the lyrics, mario actually regrets killing BF and GF because he never truly wanted to end them, he was just blinded by rage of being trapped in a video game because of daddy dearest betrayal to him.

I think there are 2 other reasons why M doesn't belong in pure evil. 1. He seems to have some respect towards Bf. He offered him a deal that if he beat M in three songs, he'd let them go, he only decided to go all out when Bf ran off instead of staying to finish the final song showcasing he would have kept his end of the deal. 2. Ultra M seems to have remorse for killing Bf&Gf at the end of All Stars (Act 4) during the credits, we can hear M singing in the background after successfully killing them instead of feeling satisfied he feels empty a bitter victory as he once again alone he even ponders on whether this is what he truly wanted.

Nah Racist Mario deserves pure evil for the fact that he doesn’t care about the other members of Nintendo characters, as shows with Peach’s black eye the the quotes, “He takes everything to seriously,” and the infamous “Mario stop! We’re brothers!” “I have NO brother…” line

To be honest I think I’d also put Devil Mario in the “Wrong” tier as well, solely because the only reason he did what he did in the story was because he was possessed by Boos, and once he broke free he “stopped the invasion” for lack of a better term. That’s just my opinion though! Great list btw

I'd personally put costume on high wicked to low pire evil tier, in the creepypasta he's based on, he's a machete weilding serial killer who specifically targets kids, luring them in with a mario mascot suit. Kinda like william afton.

You forgot a fact regarding Mr L One of the main reason he came back as vengeful spirit isnt just due to being accidentally killed by his brother, but since it happened in bowsers castle its believed that the evil aura of the castle corrupted luigis soul turning him i to the monster we know and love today

I Dont Think GB Is Pure Pure Evil, I mean, he's messed up now, but he was never evil out of the start. He was made by accident by his creator and she experimented with him, which put him through pain. And he begged her to stop. She didn't listen to him, So he had enough. So at least he isn't, you know? Straight up evil for no reason He just Became hateful for humans after what his creator did to him.

I just realized that your explanation of Mr Virtual is not only spot on, it also sounds like the amazing digital circus without the massacre and the murdering. Let me explain. So when someone put on the cursed headset know, of course, as the virtual boy, they are Mr Virtual’s next victim to kill. The amazing digital circus is very much like that except it doesn’t murder anyone. As we know, Pomni said she put on a headset and ended up there. Trapped forever as a victim. I’m seriously beginning to wonder what would happen if The amazing digital circus crew met Mr Virtual, or even the rest of the Mario’s madness v2 Characters.

I would only move Beta Luigi and Devil Mario- like already said, Devil Mario was possessed, so he wasn't in control, therefore basically just wronged- as for Beta Luigi, I wouldn't put him on the list- as you said, he wasn't brave enough to save his bro, but I see the whole song basically as him trying to mourn his lost bro
