amazing to me how indifferent Republicans were to Jan 6, and how indignant they are about a lawful search warrant on a private citizen

Ah, Mr. Turner, what are "all the other actions they could have taken"? Could they have asked for the materials? (yes - and they did, multiple times, quietly) Could they have subpoenaed the materials? (yes - and they did) What else could they have done, Mike? Maybe quietly and calmly served a legal, lawfully obtained search warrant? (yes, and they did that, again - quietly) It was only Donald and his bloviating bluster that called attention to the retrieval. Mike, what else should they have done? What did I miss? Seems to me they covered the bases quite well. They attempted MANY actions to quietly and calmly retrieve highly classified material ... stored inadequately ... in a basement ... at a country-club ... where they should NEVER have been ... from a person who did NOT have clearance or authority to have them. If it had been ME, or ANYONE ELSE, who had squirreled-away classified government documents in our basements, the DOJ and FBI would have skipped right to a no-knock search warrant, busted down our door without ANY warning, and we would be sitting in a jail-cell right now, likely without bail, awaiting trial for espionage and treason against the United States. Pray tell, Mr. Turner - what else should they have done? What were those other avenues and actions? Mike? We can't hear you. Speak up, please.

A federal employee busted with this material in their basement would have been arrested at work while the search warrant was in progress. No subpoena, no polite request. This is insane.

It doesn't matter if the documents were classified or not. Under Presidential records acts it was illegal for Donald Trump to remove any federal records from the White House period.

Saying there were no classified documents doesn't prove that it's true. It doesn't matter whether the Federal documents were classified or not. It's against the law to remove federal documents. Do I need to draw you a picture of it? Besides, there is no evidence that Trump de-classified the Federal documents. Where is the proof?
