The Inbetweener Road Bike - LOOK 785 Huez Review

Published 2024-04-14
This bike is the middle ground dweller. The true inbetweener of road bikes. The LOOK 785 Huez is a modest price for a high quality frameset of a classic design with modern features. In this video we go though the design philosophy, the build quality, the ride quality, and where this bike sits in the big picture of race bikes, endurance bikes, and more traditional geometry road bikes.

This is only one review of this bike on the entire YouTube. This shows how brands invest in products - not marketing. Thank you, Paul!

Earlier I used to think Look & Time bikes are expensive. But in 2024, they seem better value.

A nice counterpoint to the output of the majority of manufacturers for the last 8+ years. Having a bit of a Tardis moment here ……used to be called a Sportive bike, ie : comfortable but lively enough when asked to thrill for 90% of us sloggers. An updated re-visit to the past (discs, wider tyres etc excepted). Expectation it’s a bike for 10 yrs ownership……….REFRESHING ! Bravo
  • I've had my Look 785 RS Huez for 6 years, and not a single moment have I regretted it! Great to see some pleasing updates to this classic

I bought the previous gen, rival build of this bike two years ago as a novice. I think it's a fantastic bike that suits a wide range of riders and purpose. Beginners can increase stack and enjoy endurance geo while maintaining performance feel. More advanced riders can slam the stem and enjoy a great traning/travel setup. Really glad my LBS pointed me in this direction. Equipped with 303fc and 30c tires, this thing rips.

Wow, that´s a lovely bike! The white crankset is a nice feature which adds even more elegance to this bike. I like the simplicity of the design. Look really knows how to build a high quality frameset.
  • Looks a good ride, will keep an eye out for the subsequent reviews 👍🏽

Been considering a 765 optimum primarily for a long distance challenge next year, 300miles in 24 hours, but been concerned id want a more exciting bike the rest of the time. May have to add this to the list of contenders. Great content keep it up 👍

FINALLY a review on the 785. Besides Sean Sakinofsky using it for ultra endurance, there's almost nothing on the 785 anywhere. I recently bought a 785 Huez RS and absolutely love this bike.

The modern version of my old KG261. Glad they are still making a great allrounder.

Been eyeballing this frame lately as I was searching for something in between race & endurance. Glad I found your review and felt more informed after watching it rather than being targeted for marketing. Great review, I'm now subscribed. Gonna go talk to my Mechanic to see what his Look dealer has.

I love that sportive orientated bikes, that definitely suits more people than the racing ones. I’m looking forward to get a friend’s Origine Axxome Evo RS at the end of summer to replace my 2017 Propel. With my 38 mm wheels and 105 rim brakes that’ll make for a 6,6 kg build, pedals and cages included. Though, the 785 Huez is next to the ADH and Aethos on the very short list of disc brakes bike I’d like to own, with round seat post and classic bar and stem. You look sharp, you’ll have a great time in Majorca !

I still love my 585 even after 45000km for the same reasons you have stated here for the 785. Ride all day everyday and give you an amazing ride for years to come

Picked up a nearly new ‘22 chameleon blue frame for £800 and I’ve loved every minute of building it up and riding it!!! Fantastic piece of engineering :))
