Hey there folks! Today we are going to compare our 5.56 dedicated suppressors. We do not have a decimal reader and so we wont be posting number. We will try and look at the perceived sound, flash, and back pressure.

  • I know it's just video but the Fat Cat, T3, Sierra 5 seem to consistently be the most toned down, IMO. You make a good point that they're all about the same in suppression, at the end of the day. A lot of effort went into this one. Good work.

This is the video that anybody considering a 5.56 can should watch. Really covered all the bases without spewing boring specs and meaningless decibel readings.

Griffin I like, but the YHM Fat Cat is the clear winner, just because its so short, so affordable, and had no noticeable flash on the 1st round, and the sound seeeeeemed to be bit more dampened on the Fat Can and the T3.

Excellent test/comparison, bro; a veritable cornucopia of suppression. You really put a lot of work into this one.

Great review! Shows you how a $600 suppressor sounds better than a $1,800 suppressor. I’d go Fat Cat all day. Sounds great and it’s super compact.
  • Thanks a bunch for all the work you put into this comparison. Really helps out. I’m really surprised how well the Fat Cat did for its size, etc.
  • Great review. Thanks for the non suppressed shots before & after to establish that baseline we talked about. I'll be going back & listening again with headphones but with a standard speaker, I thought the Fat Cat & Sierra 5 both had higher pitches but seemed to sound quieter, which is a little odd to my ear as lower pitches generally sound better. The actual sound level of them just sounded lower. I liked those 2 & the Dual Lok 5 best. I have a Reece 5 in jail or I'd be giving all 3 serious consideration (the Fat Cat & Sierra 5 were previously on my short list). The Dual Lok 7 is currently on my short list for a dedicated.30cal option however. Love the lineup review & hope you put one together for .30cal & 9mm as I'm on the market for each, here in the very near future. I have my hybrid (R45) based on your review but a similar demo of some 36 or 46 cans would be great as well, understanding limitations of having all at the same time. Thanks again.
  • The Sierra 5 sounded the best to my ears. The Griffin Dual Lok had the best ejection pattern.

Another great video. I bought a suppressor. Then I quickly purchased 4 more. It’s addictive AF. My favorite so far is the Otter Creek OCM5 shot on 18” SPR and 12” Gordon. Not sure what my next cam will be.
  • @ofreen
I bought a Fat Cat and am happy with it. It compared well in this test, I think.
  • @joquin4618
Got the YHM turbo k & fat cat and I Love the price to performance ratio 😊
  • It seemed the Surefire Socom 556 had a lot of blow back compared to most of the others where the Dual-Lok 5 looked to have the least. It also seemed to me that the YHM cans both had a bit of a higher pitch over the rest that had a lower tone, granted they are the smaller cans. 5.56 is just hard to make quit and any sound reduction is a good thing. I do not have a dedicated 5.56 can, I run a 30 cal Sandman S and a Dual-Loc 7 on my 11.5 and 16 in 5.56 guns and both in my mind sound good with less blowback. Good vid and thanks for making it.

I pulled the trigger on the HRT 556, it should be here in another week and a half to two weeks. I cannot wait!
  • Love my Sierra 5 on my 13.9, now I’m looking at the HRT or Dual Lok 5 for my 10.3. Thinking me going with the Sierra 5 despite the claims was a great decision according to your tests.
  • Could my old metal Airsoft rail and pistol grip on a real ar play form?
  • @BigJDinSC
Looks to me like the YHM Fat Cat may be the best use of funds. I’m pretty sure it’s the cheapest in the lineup. Sound suppression seems on par, flash reduction looked as good or better than others, and the shortest length seems like a big benefit.
  • I'm a huge fan of YHM Cans in general. It's hard to hear a huge difference. In super impressed with Fat Cat . I love short FAT Cans. I'm not a fan of Cans longer than 5.5" . I use BRT EZ Tune Tubes . 0.073 is my gold standard size for 13.x" - 14.5 " Mid Lengths . Awesome video bro
