"A Silent War: Stories of Human Suffering and Resilience in Congo" is a poignant documentary that sheds light on  the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), particularly in its eastern region. Through a compelling 28-minute narrative, the film delves into the lives of individuals who have been internally displaced due to persistent intercommunal militia attacks and military operations, unraveling the profound impact of the conflict on the Congolese people.

The documentary is set in the city of Goma, where countless individuals have been compelled to abandon their homes and livelihoods. Featuring firsthand accounts from internally displaced people (IDPs), it paints a vivid picture of the once-peaceful lives they led in their hometowns. The film navigates the intricacies of the conflict, implicating various entities, including the Congolese government, the Rwandan military, and armed rebel groups like the M23.

Spread awareness. The same way the world is crying free Palestine we should be shouting free Congo aswell
  • Instead of the "Silent War" it should be named the "Unreported War." Thank you for describing what is going on in the region.

How can a country like the Congo be one of wealthiest in term of natural resources, and yet be one of the poorest? This is a question that need an answer.
  • A few people's greed causing such inhumane struggles in the DRC 😢💔it hurts my heart

The multinational companies that are operating in the Congo are the main cause of the problem along with the CIA they give weapons to all sides to make sure that their will always be conflicts. Therefore ensuring free and easy access to the mineral resources of the region also enables the depopulation of areas where high concentration of particular minerals are located, something done from out in space via satellites then conflict or outbreak of a virus to drive the people from the area then the multinational compmove in

I saw this documentary and besides my heart breaking from all this suffering, I did not understand what the main root cause of the conflict is. Ok the minerals, but where is the Congo army? Ok, greedy neighbors, but where are the international sanctions? The 9 main head criminals? But why aren’t they in prison? This means everyone is involved and guilty. How to understand what is REALLY going on here? Innocent People are going through hell.

Anytime I watch DRC documentary featuring the suffering of the civilian populace, I recalled the brave efforts made by Late Col. Mamadou Mustafa Ndala. This late Colonel single highhandedly took the rebels in their own game and restored order and peace tot he North Kivu Prefecture. But, what happened, Congolese Army Generals in Kinshasa got jealous and had him killed with a RPG on is truck in broad daylight. Thus reinforcing the belief that even the Congolese State, itself does not want the crises to die off. Partly because the Prefecture is rich n minerals which is exploited without state control and everybody is making money out of the misery of the people. Secondly, the UN Task Force is just there earning salaries in USD, while writing reports. And the rebels knew the UN Task Force are just "tourists". Doing nothing while civilians are butchered right before their eyes. As long as the region continues to habour the remnants of FDLR (Hutu extremists), Rwanda will always create another force to engage them and keep them at arms length, rather than use the Rwandan Army. The Congolese Government is simply not serious about bring peace to the region. It prefers to pass the buck and the UN is complicit in it. Its a pity!

Whenever you see :" visit Rwanda" remember these forgotten slaves in the modern world that are busy minding their own life ..while Rwanda is busy looting minerals and organising chaos in this region.
