The train is the way to go! The ferry does offer some unbeatable viewpoints of these cities from the water which is not possible otherwise, but it takes about 2hrs to run the gauntlet. In my experience, the ferry ended up taking half of an eight hour day to travel between towns, and did not allow us to enjoy them as much as we would have liked. Do not fall into the tourist beach chair/umbrella trap! just bring a towel and umbrella! The umbrella seating tickets were 40 Eu per person!! Maybe even pack a lunch- my experience in Italy in general has been better buying groceries and cooking at BNB. Eating out should be an exception not the rule and should be done with research and intention. Too easy to get tourist trapped into a 20Eu portion of spaghetti!!!

in the summer it is terribly crowded, to every place by overcrowded trains, the stations are dirty, without toilets and without shelter from the sun, nothing has been invested for a hundred years. They charge a lot, but give nothing in return. At the same time, I was robbed from the bus to the hotel... Terrible. Never again

Might want to correct one typo in the captions (ferry tickets instead of fairy tickets, although Cinque Terre feels like a fairyland).

Great videos! Very well done. Any chance you might share your spreadsheet? We're heading out for some travel and I liked the way you tracked expenses.

Hello, I have a few questions.. So, 1. Which city is best to stay in if I have a family with 1 kid and am worried about carrying luggage after getting off the train? It sounds like Monteressso is the one, but can you confirm? 2. To take some of those pictures from the cliffside where the colored houses are in background, do I need the hiking pass? 3. Which city would still be the most stroller friendly ? I'm thinking I may not be able to cover all the cities and this may determine where I go 4. Do you have any information the ferries? would that be a better way to experience cinque de terre if i dont think i can carry my kid everywhere 5. Lastly, I am still conflicted between Amalfi and Cinque de terre.. If you have been to amalfi, which one would you recommend between the two? My main constraint is mobility. I want to make sure that I can cover as much ground given i'm travelling with a family
