The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday morning that there is now an active arson investigation underway into the Quarry Fire.

Anyone taking bets how long it will take them to start talking about permanent travel restrictions or outlawing lighters? (Or, did I maybe miss it?) Just why the hell no one want's to put any water directly on any fire is another thing! How often do we see something smouldering that hours later turns into a full fledged forest fire? I mean, if 7News can get a helicopter into the air, why not the USFS?! And even then, I dare you to watch where they do drop/spray any water. SMH!
