  • This is literally just “she’s good, so she must be a man” It’s just sexism. Literally it’s just sexism.
  • Right wing weirdos? Being weird? Never would I have suspected
  • @coreyander286
"The jihad shall not end until all female boxers are trans." —The Most Sublime Porte of the Islamic Republic of Algeria
  • Protecting womens sports by accusing any woman who is good at sports of being a man and trying to prevent them from doing their job is certainly a novel approach.
  • Transphobes: “WE’RE NOT OBSESSED!!!” Also transphobes: *literally makes up a trans person to get mad at*
  • What's crazy is the fact that she has been boxing for a long time. She has won and lost so other female boxers have beaten her.
  • The fact this story has gotten this far just speaks to how easily misinformation can spread.
  • @Avrysatos
They tested it this way: you aren’t allowed to win so you must have cheated somehow.
  • @jaycred8726
Obligatory reminder that transphobia hurts cis folks too
  • @oddyx420
The conservatives once again proudly supporting Russian propaganda cause why not. Such American patriots! USA! USA! USA!
  • @jyunael346
Everything about this is so absurd. I feel so sorry for her. What really got to me that some journalists cited post fascist italian president and framed it as if she was a valid source for "diagnosing" someone trans
  • These are the same people who had collective Meltdowns over a can of Bud Light. 🤷🏿‍♂️🤦🏽‍♀️
  • @OneEyeShadow
So i guess they changed their definition to: "Adult human female who is bad at boxing"? Seems a tad arbitrary, but then again, it's always been.
  • As long as I live, I will never understand why the mere fact that she is from Algeria didn't immediately kill this idea in everyone's mind.
  • @nisiwilli
So, the IBA just held a press conference claiming to have the evidence of both athletes (Imane Khelif and a Taiwanese boxer Ling Yu-Ting) "not being female". On top of giving absolute no evidence in that press conference while spouting your regular transphobic talking point, they wasted time talking about the Bible and complaing about the Olympic opening performance. When a Taiwanese reporter asked why the IBA claimed they tested the two athletes unqualified in 2022, yet didn't say it until 2023 while they're competeing so they're caught off guard and have no time to refute it, the chairman didn't respond for one minute, then said "Taiwan is part of China, we like China and we like Chinese people" out of fucking nowhere. So yeah, it's pretty obvious that all this shitshow is just some political act.
  • I don't think it gets enough attention how absurd the idea is that Algeria (a Muslim majority nation that has laws discriminating against trans and queer people) would be the country to try and sneak a man into the women's boxing tournament at the Olympics. It's like, ok, even IF Algeria's female boxing coaches and the people in charge of that program wanted to do something like that, there is no way they would have been able to get everyone involved with Khelif's training on board and sworn to secrecy. Someone would have leaked something long before she got anywhere near the Olympics because they would have been motivated by their Islamic beliefs to call them out. There would be every incentive socially and legally in Algeria to blow the whistle. The fact that this hasn't been an issue up to this point at all should tip everyone off that this is BS.
  • @TheGuwrovsky
Vaush, as a hungarian fan of yours, this was the first Olimpia where I was glad my country's athlete has lost...
  • @aja9469
She has been defeated several times by other women in her career.. this "Issue" is a non.
