My god this is such a core memory for me. This was the most baseball I can possibly imagine experiencing. Every single Massachusetts city and town absolutely lived and died with every moment. They made announcements about it on the high school PA system. Surreal.

Living in New England in 2003-2007, Sox vs Yanks was PEAK rivalry and it was incredible. As a kid, you couldn't ask for anything better. It'll never be like that again.

My daughter was 2 weeks old and I hadn't watched baseball in over 10 years. My grandma was 93 years old from Middleboro, Massachusetts, so she was alive for the last Red Sox World Series. Idk what made me start watching this game, this time, but I'm glad I did. I called my grandma the day after they won the World series, all she said was, "I can die now". She passed January 3rd, 2005. I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen.

On the subject of Ortiz, his grand slam in the 2013 ALCS, considering all the circumstances surrounding it, would be an excellent candidate for a Rewinder.

I was 15 when this happened, and I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember how this just felt magical. I remember telling myself how I was watching history take place. There was just something about this series that I’ll remember feeling, every time I watch it. “4 Days in October” is one of my favorite “30 For 30” docs. What Big Papi did in this series, was nothing short of miraculous.

Millar’s “don’t let us win today!” is a rally cry I hear so often in Massachusetts to this day. Even if it’s used as a joke, it became an iconic line that spurned one of the most memorable comebacks in sports history. Millar going on to basically outline the pitching plan to Game 7 and saying “then it’s anybody’s game.” makes the legend of the quote even better.

Fun fact: the 2005 Sox raised the banner with the Yankees on the sideline, and the cheer that went up for Rivera thanking him for the blown save was deafening. He tipped his cap with a grin because he got it. I hate the Yanks, but with him and Jeter, I hate them because they were never Sox. Anyway, I was diagnosed with an aggressive blood clotting disorder in May of ‘04, and part of those shenanigans have involved three strokes that have shot my memory. But I will never forget this series and that team, and have been wanting you guys to do something on this series since the channel started. So thrilled to finally see it (and not have to wait 86 years for it.) Now it’s time for my 192883756th rewatch of “Faith Rewarded.”

I remember watching this game in the dominican republic when I was a kid. This was the best baseball playoff series i've ever watched.

The beginnings of baseball’s lone reverse sweep

Let out a feral scream when I saw this. This series is my first real sports memory. I wasn’t allowed to stay awake long enough to see the ends of games 4 and 5, but Schilling’s Game 6 performance and the Game 7 blowout will live with me forever. I honestly thought if y’all were gonna cover this series, it would be Damon’s Game 7 grand slam, but this is just as sweet. Also, on the theme of Big Papi, would love a rewinder on his 8th inning slam in the 2013 alcs.

As a Sox Fan I just can't tell you enough how perfectly timed this was made. I needed this. Was a rough year this year for Red Sox Nation. But THIS moment, this was that TIME, I'll never forget it and how much it meant and it only gets bigger for me with time. Thanks so much for this!

My uncle is Mike Timlin he got the whole family got tickets to the ALCS that year. It was probably one of the most magical moments in baseball history. It was joy and hope in equal measure.

I was in Ireland at the time following the game on an online box score that refreshed every 60 seconds. The sun was just threatening to come up when they won. Ruined my sleep for a week. Worth it. Wakefield saving the Sox bullpen in game 3 was so key.
