It was (almost) 40 years ago that Genesis performed in this studio and (almost) 10 years ago that I did our first transfer of this 16mm film in PAL format (720x576). The results of this effort along with the generosity at meeksgenesis, SAB for the audio work, RH for the artwork, and a host of others well documented, created a masterpiece that has been used countless times after on TV, bootlegs, "review" DVDs, and even the official Genesis boxed sets. Who would have thought that our work would go so far? Well, I am here to try to push the envelope a little further...I give you Shepperton HD.

I was born in 77 and grew up with the Genesis trio. But damn, THIS is by far the real GENESIS ; love Peter and Steve.
  • I saw them less than a month later in New York’s Felt Forum of Madison Square Garden. It was only their second time in America. The show changed my life when it came to what kind of music I would listen to. There were a few thousand of us that night, and while Loggins and Messina were selling out the main garden, we saw prog history in the making that night. Peter was like no other performer I’ve ever seen before. I’ll never forget it and I’ll always remember it until the day I die!

Genesis as I saw them for the first time at a little club in Hollywood. The effect of Tony's blasting, doom-laden mellotron and Peter's glowing eyes as the show began was chilling, thrilling, glorious. Having only heard them on a crappy record player, the sound was overwhelming in intensity and virtuosity. Unforgettable!

Genesis = Genius. Never matched...ever. This is music/art/theatre/poetry for generations to come. Seeing the Peter Gabriel band is still, after all these many years, breathtaking. when Peter left he took the joy, inspiration and meaning with him, but we still have these treasures.
  • I consider them as the most creative pop/rock group of the past 50 years. I loved their music, and I still do.

Peter Gabriel is one of those rare performers who can look on his early years with real pride. So many years ago, so many changes and directions in his music since, all wonderful, but I truly hope he still sees the magnificence and beauty this demonstrates. I'd struggle to find another person that has ben so essential and varied for 50 years and counting. Loved him then and I still do. Thank you Peter from the bottom of my heart/

Watching this 50 years later. Still astonishing and Peter was so stunning. It must be weird looking back on your former (let's be honest, beautiful) self as a young man. So much wonderful stuff since and still essential. What a journey. It's an absolute privilege to have been a passenger for a half century and he ain't finished yet, bless him

Peter Gabriel's performance as a front man is pure genius in every way and I for one am so blessed to have grown up during this magical moment in music history...

"The Musical Box", how can a song be so beautiful? Still having goosebumps after so many years.

I´m always watching and searching vintage Genesis footage from Peter Gabriel´s era and this Musical Box performance is the best I can remember. PG's performance is so intense and vulnerable, especially as the old man, who at times seems not to be him. And of course, has a band on the top of its game behind him.

The truest form of Prog. Thank you Steve for being the only member that still embraces it. Thank you for the past 7 years I have seen you resurrect these on stage here in NY.
