Arturia Pro's: - Fair Price - No iLok - Great Sounding + you get a desk, a keyboard, some floppy disks and a pair of headphones as well, absolute no brainer...

I like the quality of UAD in general but frankly, I feel there is a lot of hype over them. (I have a few of their plugins). I just bought the Arturia on sale for $49. To my ears it has that classic lexicon sound. (I grew up in the 80's with it on everything). To boot, the advanced features that make workflow more efficient on the Arturia are just freaking smart. Even the simple A/B switch is a time saver. And the dry/wet mix knob? Helloooo... Loving this thing!

When listening to this demo I slightly preferred the UAD, but after trying both demo versions on synths I preferred the Arturia. I like its reverb tails more particularly when pushed near full decay.
  • I have both, and I tend to use the UAD on my most important reverb sends, and then when I want to do inserts, i'll use the Arturia. The thing I appreciate the most about the Arturia though is the stereo width knob. I always felt like the UAD emulation could use a stereo width knob since I feel sometimes it could be wider.

Arturia has a modern mode, frequently selecting it, excellent job. Inspiring.

Arturia sounds "warmer" (saturation?), but I guess UAD is closer to the original sound.
  • UAD version sounds a little cleaner and more defined, with a heavier bottom end at the same time, while Arturia version sounds a little duller and weaker at the same time. Wondering whether that can be attributed also to a slight difference in volume?
  • I would agree that the UAD sounds more authentic to the real deal.....but even at discounted prices the UAD is significantly more expensive. It's more likely that I will buy the Arturia. I like both sonically but the are different to me and the Arturia comes across as trading a rich sound for a fresh sound if that makes sense.

Uad sounds darker. I am preferring the Arturia
  • To me the arturia sounds a little bit more 3D in some presets.

Side by side UAD sounds better but with the price point of the current discounted, the Arturia takes the cake on this because the majority wont be able to tell the difference when used in a song at the end of the day it still has that 224 sound you desire, that being said if you are a professional seeking the best possible recreation of the original you can feel more out of the uad with clarity and bottom end sounds more thin with arturia... you get what you pay for

I have the uad verison but the advanced view on the Arturia is more inspiring

You can have UAD in month subscription for 20$ with 30 plugins, and 2500api compressor...

Nao sei qual dos dois se parece mais com o real... Mas achei o som do Arturia um pouco melhor. Obrigado pelo video.
