  • If you put fresh strawberries in a big bowl of cold water & add 1 table spoon of vinager it cleans & gets rid of any bugs. Only needs to sit for 2 mins and then rinse with cold water. Really works to clean them.

I am very new to canning and never thought of canning (water bath) strawberries. What a great idea. Thank you for sharing this! ❤🍓😋
  • I'm gonna have a mess load of strawberries this year, I need this vid. Thank you!!!
  • @annieneumann2540
best way to hull a strawberry is to use a melon baller, works amazing.
  • My husband got me a canner with all the accessories but I've been too intimidated to try it out. Until now. You really broke it down for us ! I was watching you going "i can do that". Thank you so much !

Suggestion: I put my jars in the oven at 225f, on a cookie sheet, for about 15 minutes to sterilize after washing them. Just an idea.

Jinne, maybe when you put the berries in the pot when it's only 1/2 full ad part of the sugar then & stir it in. My neighbor is a boss at one of the strawberry farms. Last year he brought me a 5 gallon bucket of berries. I made him some strawberry bread & jam as a thank you.

Canning mine in the morning! I’m loving this way vs jam. I plan to eat them over Poundcake or ice cream. Yum!! I also dehydrated my tops to add to hot cups of tea later.
  • Thank you for this video. I did not know strawberries could be waterbath canned.😊
  • @lylaschmooz
You can use a plastic strw inserted in the bottom of the strawberry push it through to the top and it removes the leaves and hull perfectly. It is much faster than a knife or huller. Just a fun tip.
  • 👍 I liked how she cover everything from cooking to storing and how long they will last!! Thank you.
  • @Tzippy323
Try adding your sugar a little at a time instead of all at once when the pot is filled. Then you won’t have to mix them as much and reduce any bruising.
  • I am with you I always put lids in a small pot and lightly boil, then I know there clean and always seal
  • @bacingram
This by far was the most informative video on water bath canning I have seen. You didn't leave out any steps and go off camera you explained in detail each step. I can do this now. Thank you so much.
  • How delicious they look ! Thanks for sharing great instructions I may say !
  • Perfect timing!! I’m getting 3 gallons of strawberries from my Amish neighbor tomorrow morning and I’m definitely canning a few whole. Thank you sooo much🙏🏽
  • I would put she sugar on in two parts. Sugar in the middle and sugar on top! Still careful not to bruise them!! Just a thought! Haven’t done this yet!
  • @joanmargaret4899
FYI Completely covering the jars with water could cause siphoning. Really only need the water up to the product line.
  • @angelpearce
I also use my citrus peeler to de-bubble. Great tool : ) Strawberries look great !
