  • Great video, what a huge help. In case anyone has a blown head gasket, these guys have another great video on that as well. Thanks again
  • @DarinRaymond
Very nice job putting this together. Will definitely be referring back when I do mine.

That was a great and very informative video, thanks for posting it.
  • There’s an access to bolts behind a cover passenger side. Those bolts need to be removed to get the dual mass flywheel off?
  • @shanghaitheory
Clutch, Torch? Cutting? I belive removing the 8 x 15 mm bolts would let you separate dual mass flywheel. Issue is probably you welded together the two parts of flywheel with cutting torches.
  • Hey buddy, great video. Might look into unbolting the clutch from the front. I take a piece of emery cloth and clean the bearing surfaces on the input shaft. I also put a tiny amount of grease on the input shaft to help with installation.

HEY GUYS! JUST CAME ACROSS THIS JOB FOR THE FIRST TIME AND I FOUND THIS VIDEO AND AFTER READING THRU THE COMMENTS I FOUND THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE INSPECTION COVER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HELD IN BY 2 10MM BOLTS IF YOU TURN THE ENGINE BY HAND ABOUT EVERY THIRD TURN YOULL COME ACROSS A 15 MM BOLT THERES A TOTAL OF 8 ON THE LAST ONE BEVERY CARFUL WHEN TAKINF IT OFF THE LAST ONE HOLD ALL THE WEIGHT OF THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. GET A BUDDY TO HELP. IVE ALSO SEEN VIDEOS WHERE THIS CAN COME OUT WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND IM COMMENTING ON THIS VIDEO FOR FEED BACK AND TO SAVE ANYONE TIME AND MONEY IM NOT SURE HE NEEDED TO CUT IT THIS WAY BUT EVERY TRUCK IS DIFFRENT.
  • Future reference - Take the bolts on the back off (like a torque converter) and the DMF will come out with the transmission.
  • On these trucks there's an inspection plate on the back side of engine passenger side kind of like a torque converter it has 8 bolts you need to take out to remove the clutch from the flex plate that you cut out with the torch LOL I learnt the hard way also haha!! 🤜💥🤛 It's crazy these trucks use a flex plate like automatic transmissions 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤪⚖️🎲🎲

Very informative video. I've been thinking about buying a Dodge pickup and undecided between an auto or manual transmission. This video helper a lot.
  • @GWRVictoria
Did you disconnect the 18 pin electrical connector so you could move the wiring free of the crossmember? I can't figure out how to uncouple this connector..

Had the same thing happened to my g56 last year cost me $2800 for a new south end clutch. It had only 20000 miles scorched but looked like new. Pressure plate was packed with hay.
  • Had the same thing in my buddies bell housing thank goodness that's all the managed to get to

Also add transmission fluid lol. I highly suggest adding an additional qt of fluid through the top of the transmission before you bolt the shifter back on. The extra qt really helps with stiff shifting. There is plenty of room for the extra qt no worry about blown seals.
  • @timf2279
An issue I had was when the transmission was removed the engine lifted up about an inch with the weight of the transmission removed. I had to tilt the engine for the transmission to line up.
  • Nice job! I enjoyed the video. Just one question, do you have to drain the fluid from your tranny before you pull it to install the clutches. And how about the transfer case too??
