Sorry about all the video distortion, itā€™s blocked. Amazing song.
  • @kikivon3501
I absolutely love how she starts bouncing up and down at the end. She knew she slayed it, left no scraps. One of the greatest Grammy performances of all time !!!!!! IMHO
  • So late to this party. Was on a road trip last weekend and this song came on - I had to pull over. The hurt gay teenager still inside of me that was pushed into walls, tripped, and tortured needed this, and I had no idea. Thank you Brandi ā¤

There is nobody like Brandi. She puts more emotion into every word than most artists ever do across their entire careers. She does not have a bad song. Dig in!
  • @08davey
Before the show she told Jonell Monae she was really nervous about the performance. Janelle told her to pretend she's only singing to her. When the performance started, Janelle stood up and stayed up. That's the reason Brandi keeps looking to her left.
  • She absolutely gives me ,not just hope, but joy for the future of music. Love her.

I can't not weep during this song. It's amazing. One of the most important songs.

This is great song, Elton John actually said this is one song he wished he would have written
  • @vickiroman189
There is definitely a point to watching the official version. It's heartbreakingly hopeful and beautiful!
  • @bjooled
She talks about this performance in her book ā€œBroken Horseā€. She. Was. Sick. Which to me makes it all the more amazing. Her book is captivating. Also her documentary on Tanya Tucker. So much!
  • Sheā€™s simply the best. Glad youā€™ve started discovering her my friend. ā€˜Party of Oneā€™ is also a beautiful song from this album. Cheers!
  • @ankhgirl3
As you can hear, sheā€™s amazing live. Have seen her multiple times and also with Pink! and let me tell youā€¦she pours her soul out when she sings and draws yours out with her. ā€œThe Twinsā€ in her band are just as mesmerizing.

Her cover of Joni Mitchellā€™s ā€œA Case of Youā€ is extraordinary & this is from a lifelong Joni fan.
  • Thanks for your real, emotional reaction to her and this song. Last summer, Brandi and the Twins were traveling around doing the Beyond These Silent Days album tour concerts and occasionally "opening" for Pink in her huge stadium shows. Two of Brandi's die hard fans were wearing Brandi shirts at one of those concerts and after Brandi performed a couple of songs, some fellow audience members nearby, wearing their Pink merch, looked at this couple's shirts and said "You knew who the real headliner of this show is, didn't you? Wow!" Brandi just picked up a couple more Grammys the other day. Watch the Highwomen's song Highwomen where they rewrote the lyrics of the Highwaymen's song to reflect the history of female heroes through the years. It'll make you cry, too.

You donā€™t need to watch it on here but the video is worth a look because it has a lot of marginalized people singing along to the lyrics which is powerful.

You need to watch the official video too. It is amazing and even more emotional. I love both the Grammy performance and the video. Trust me... just go for it. Other faves are Right On Time, You and Me on the Rock and Stay Gentle

Brandi and the twins are the absolute best! Iā€™ve seen them at least 8 times, including at Red Rocks in Colorado and with Joni Mitchell at the Gorge amphitheater in Washington. They are incredible every single time, without fail. Iā€™m a born & raised Washington kid. Weā€™re very proud of our girl

    This is a masterpiece šŸ˜šŸ˜
