Day 139 - Goat Rocks Wilderness
This was the section that I was looking forward to the most in Washington and it did not disappoint. The weather was absolutely amazing and the views so stunning. It was rough terrain though, lots of steep climbs, some snow and tons of rocks. I was tired and so were my feet and ankles. Found a good campsite along with some other hikers.

Usually no mosquitos up that high but it’s been so warm that the fact they are biting at that elevation shows it’s an exceptional year. But you got an amazing day to see three mountains. And you are wise to go up. It’s actually safer. Knifes edge is best lunch spot. And looks like it’s not so badly windy. Often it’s insanely windy up there. But you get to see adams, St. Helens and rainier with a Mountain Dew for a three Mountain View. Plus knifes edge is it’s own view

I have to admit you made me laugh when you pulled out the Mountain Dew. Those trails are pretty sketchy at times but you march on. I agree that scene with Mt. Ranier in the background is incredible....you almost hate to leave such a spot.
