Maybe the real vagabond knight were the friends we slew along the way.

I know a lot of people prefer samurai or confessor, the vagabond was always my favorite because it was so mysterious in a way.

I always start with a tank class. You can afford to speck into other areas without a risk. It's nice to have the extra armor and shield to start

The knight set becomes so much better with the existence of the fingerprint set. Seeing how the standard of a Tarnished knight became corrupted by his quest for the throne

Gurranq and the beast cleargy of Farum Azula would be cool. Fun fact: if you look closly at the clawmark seal, you can spot a Twinbird design that shows up in Farum Azula architecture

The knight set also seems somewhat similar to the fingerprint set as well as the eccentric set. It also has similarities with Godfrey’s armor, as color scheme is similar and the knight set has a V with an I through it on the front, similar to the shape on the front of Godfrey’s armor. My theory is that maybe there were a bunch of “knights of the roundtable” that wore this armor when Godfrey became Godfrey and that some of the tarnished we see in the game are the remnants.

The vagabond is set hits that perfect rugged aesthetic that i love so much, it looks even better without the cape where you can see all the practical stuff they keep around, especially the that backpack thrown over, making you feel like a real adventurer. Awesome set.

    >Be descendant of Tarnished >Live a pretty normal life >Called back to Lands Between >Need a weapon and ancestral armor >Realize you chucked dad's goofy LARP costume in the back of the hall closet like 8 years ago >FML

Enchanted Knights looked cool in Network test videos so I picked Prisoner to start down that path. Also "mind blown" over the Vagabond and Knight armor catch, awesome work!

The "thick fabrics" is a gambeson. It's cloth armor (padded armor in D&D) and is very prominent in history as it's very effective for its cost.
  • Pick class with starting halberd, buy halberd from wandering merchant: double halberds !! Also I never even noticed the similarities between the knight set and the vagabond set, good eyes

The color of the fabric for the knight and vagabond knight are both blue, blue being associated with magic. The motifs and embossing on the two sets also match those found on armor and weapons associated with the Cuckoo Knights. This is most apparent when comparing the embossing of the trim outlining the Cuckoo Knight's shield to the embossing on the front of the Knight's chest armor. To add onto this, the hue of the shield's gold trimming is almost identical (if not the exact same), something that's particularly notable in Elden Ring. At the very minimum, they are extremely similar. As far as I'm aware, however, the designs they share are found nowhere else in the Lands Between. I firmly believe both the Vagabond Knight and the standard Knight sets are Cuckoo in origin. The visual evidence certainly suggests that much. Given that the Cuckoo Knights are not more than paid mercenaries, it'd make sense they'd incorporated those who became Tarnished into their ranks at some point before their exile from the Lands Between.

I have another theory that the vagabond knight is somehow connected to the knights of miquella, in that the rope on the helmet seems both functional as in holding the helmet together as well as having a similar flower crown design. That just a theory a gamer theory,
  • @Ang3lD0wn
All the tarnished were soldiers or otherwise servants of Godfrey who were stripped of their grace by Marika and banished from the lands between to all the other lands. Then they clearly went their separate ways, got involved various conflicts (like Godfrey's battles in the badlands) or whatever, and then died, and now they've been called back. So the vagabond is a tarnished who became a wandering knight somewhere. Haven't seen your videos for a while I see you are still doing amazing work.,keep up the good work mate
  • Having the angle of his sword be not perfectly perpendicular with the hilt is a nice touch on the thumbnail
  • @epiccthulu
I completely agree with this theory, it feels like a lot of the starting gear actually comes with story implications. The roleplay of this game is unlike any other fromsoft game
  • After telling the whole story, I feel like playing the game again! I think I'll take the prisoner again to feel the nostalgia vibe again! once again an excellent video! 👏
  • @jaysondowney7403
It’s shocking how some of the classes like astrologer is so key to the lore but then you get prisoner who were pooped stained pants and berserk reference helmet
  • @geckos114
I hope th dlc adds more classic knight sets like dark souls 3, we really needed more in the game
  • @oni2362
My second character is a vagabond and I love him my first starting class was a Samurai that I ended up turning into a int Dex build with Moonveil and sorceries cause it made me feel like an anime protagonist 😂
