Thanks for sharing this James! It brings back so many memories for me. I was a young engineer working for Boeing and helped design some parts of this plane back in the day. I believe you in the price of those engine blades. Pure titanium, the only metal on earth that can handle the pressure and still be light weight. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Jimmy! Nice walk around! You are definitely not your average dumb trucker. lol!!! You got skillz!!! Seriously. It does take a lot to fly those things. Those blades are made from pure titanium and one engine cost about $30 million a piece considering the plane cost over $300 million. You have to inspect the leading edge of each blades for damage. If there is a bird strike or something else they have to repair it immediately. They are also leased from Rolls Royce to the aircraft. When it’s time for a rebuild they get another one and swap it in. It takes as little as 7 hours from a team of mechanics. That’s impressive!!!
