Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell said the city's executive branch employees, as well as other private and public sector partners, will be expected to report in-person three days a week beginning Nov. 4.

The move was done to build “on efforts to improve collaboration and service to residents while still allowing remote work flexibility," according to a press release. "Joining the mayor and City of Seattle, several regional public and private employers announced changes to their in-person work policies and reported more positive employee experiences with increased in-person collaboration.”

“More people living Downtown than ever before 🤡” Yeah… on the streets homeless!!! 🧟‍♂️🤣
  • Have we considered enforcing the laws and getting rid of the crazy crime spree so that the businesses will want to open? Who is all for enforcement of law?? Do I hear a vote?

Probably won't happen since nobody wants to go to downtown Seattle anymore.

Cat is out of the bag. People don't want to sit in offices anymore. Especially if it can save you substantial amounts money not commuting. Empty office space needs to be converted to apartments and condominiums. This is a shift not a dying out. Let delivery services expand and give people the option stay home if possible. Forcing people to commute to save some businesses on real estate losses is the wrong way to handle this. Lack of law enforcement, no rental price control, expensive parking are more of a problem than people working from home.

I don't think there's enough money on this planet to get me to go downtown and may God bless and protect you if you do
  • The more people living downtown than ever before that he is talking about,he is forgetting to say that most of them are homeless/drug Addicts& criminals.

I’ll do it but 0 days and no arrests as a cop but I’ll make stern phone calls

So that concept of a "death rattle" that you hear right before a person dies? This desperate message is what a death rattle of a city sounds like.

This is over-regulation. The government shouldn’t be telling people how many days they have to physically be somewhere. That’s called jail.

I go into the office 2-3 days a week, but when I’m waiting for the bus on 3rd avenue I understand why people don’t want to be downtown. There are so many addicts and others who don’t look safe to be around it’s scary.

Who the hell would want to visit this crime hole anymore 😂
  • @CatWhiskering
If city employees haven't been going downtown in the last 4 years that explains a lot. Wait until they find out how gawdawful they've made things. 😂

They’re still working from home?! Wow!

But it doesn’t mean people are going to eat out

New businesses. Plywood over window installers, for rent / lease sign installers, real estate agencies, long term parking lot employees. Yeah go woke, go broke.
