Wow! Way to go Walmart, you turned a $48 incident into a $2 million payout!! Kudos to this lady!! I hope she receives her settlement promptly
  • @Lemonz1989
If that’s the case, then every time a Walmart cashier accidentally overcharges someone, Walmart should be held criminally liable for theft of property.

Why was Walmart's representative not held in contempt for failing to appear in court for the very court proceedings that THEY initiated???
  • @aheimdahl5201
This is the reason that I use regular checkout with a Cashier. Forget Self - Checkout.
  • @TAMIKKOBEASTY
The lawyer that won her case needs to find every single person that this happened to and file the biggest class action suit known to humankind. This is gross. 🚫.
  • I was working at Walmart as the asset protection a few years back when we escorted someone back to our office after a misunderstanding when the self checkout failed The lady was so very polite and went right back to pay for the missed items 2 days later I was fired for not pressing criminal charges and involving law enforcement. Mind you this was a single mother with 2 kids. Walmart will forever be a disgusting stain on retail.

Walmart has some nerve. They won't admit wrongdoing even after the trial, and say they have evidence, when they clearly don't. I hope the woman and her family can move on from this. Good for her for not giving in, even though it was a stressful process.

WOW!! this is an eye-opener. This could happen to anyone. I don’t think I’ll be shopping at Walmart anytime soon. Very scary situation. I’m so glad she won her lawsuit.
  • @Necropheliac
When you ask your customers to be your untrained cashiers, they’re going to make mistakes. Walmart needs to be held accountable for these horrible business practices.
  • @padifam
Walmart : we demand you to pay us $200 and all charges will be dropped Jury : Pay the woman $2M!
  • Wal Mart needs to GET RID of those self check out lanes They are nothing but trouble. I will NEVER EVER use one of those.
  • So they committed perjury, lied to a court official, submitted a false police report, etc., so they need to be criminally investigated.
  • @kryan1364
I'm so glad she won the lawsuit. Everyone should be aware that this happened in case it happens to them.

It would be interesting to know how many customers like myself have stopped shopping at Walmart altogether. As a law abiding citizen these stories of false arrests have impressed on me that shopping at Walmart is not worth the risk. I am glad this women stood up for herself and won her suit. Shame on Walmart
  • @PiscesMoon2You
If the verdict isn't supported by the evidence then why didn't Wal Mart show the evidence in court? Because it would exonerate her. The judge needs to order her record expunged so it won't be on her record and damage her in the future.
  • Good for her. Corporations are quick to stick it to us whenever they can even if they’re in the wrong. $2.1 million is a drop in the bucket for Walmart, but I’m glad she fought back.

Just another reason NOT to use self checkout, besides, I’m NOT on their payroll to do their job !
  • And this is the reason I haven't shopped at Walmart for over 10 years and I never will.
