Have you all ever heard the Dylan song, Hurricane? About how a boxer name Rueben Carter was railroaded for murder in Pattison New Jersey. Got the man released from a life sentence. A movie with Denzel Washington was made about the whole story too. Great song, great movie, great songwriting great singing...and brave. Not many have the guts to write such a song. From the album called Desire. That is another album worthy or a full listen. Tunes like Sara, One More Cup of Coffee... Amazing.

Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a song by Bob Dylan, written for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.

20 years ago my mother passed away. I was leaving the hospital, got into my car and my ipod was on shuffle, this tune immediately started playing, and while she wasn't Pat Garrett, she was certainly knocking on heavens door.

Bob Dylan’s catalogue is unsurpassed in modern popular music. Nobody else even comes close.

This song only scratches the surface of why Bob Dylan is considered among the best, if not THE best, songwriter of all time.

Written and recorded by Dylan in '73 for the Sam Peckinpah western movie 'Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid' starring Kris Kristofferson. Great song, it was a hit for Clapton at one point. Dylan is one of the most prolific songwriters in modern history, and won a Nobel Prize for his contributions to literature. The dude's a living legend.

Of course, he's number one. When has a musician actually won a Nobel Prize in literature for his lyrics. Truly next level. Check out more from him.

Here are a few other Bob Dylan tunes to check out - "Tangled Up in Blue", "Like a Rolling Stone", "Blowin' in the Wind" and especially "Subterranean Homesick Blues" it has a Rap flow and the lyrics are superior.
  • Bob wrote alot of the soundtrack for "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid." He had a role in the movie, and this song played during what I feel is the best death scene in a western, was the character played by Slim Pickens was shot and went down by the water to die and his woman stayed beside him. Great movie, greater cast of characters. Give it a look see.
  • @MrRondonmon
Dylan wrote All along the Watchtower and Jimmi Hendrix made it famous.
  • @parsleyqueen
You guys need to get into more Dylan. After all, he won a Nobel Prize for that songwriting. Hurricane, Blowin' in the Wind, Like a Rolling Stone, All Along the Watchtower, Hard Rain's Gonna Fall, the list is infinite...💜☮

Dylan is the greatest song writer of all time. No other artist has been covered as much as him. He won a Nobel prize for literature for his lyrics. Check out the albums Blonde on Blonde and Blood on the Tracks

absolutely ♥ Dylan! So many songs to suggest: Like A Rolling Stone, Tangled Up In Blue, Shelter From The Storm, Visions Of Johanna, Things Have Changed & It's All over Now Baby Blue BTW - I'd really suggest sticking with studio versions for his songs! Also this is a relatively simple song for Dylan

I always get pumped when you two react to living legends. Two in the same day. Shout out to 82 yr old Bob Dylan with wishes of great health. 🙏

This was a song for a scene in the movie "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid"--a sheriff just lost a shootout and is about to die. Dylan wrote the soundtrack for the movie. A pretty good movie, too.
  • @greenbeatsred
A couple of my favorites by Dylan are "Lay, Lady, Lay" and a collaboration he did with Johnny Cash "Girl from the North Country". This particular song kind of reminded me of a Western when the Sheriff gets shot and everything is getting dark.
