What are your problem areas? 💸💸 - Mine are plants and second hand shopping 😬

“2024 spend no more” is what I’m going with!
  • Unless you own a lot of "stuff" at the onset, i highly recommend a low spend yesr over a no spend year. As mentioned, we generally buy things as a function of life as opposed to making most of the things we consume. If frugality and only purposeful spending are the goals, one is likely to discover that "investment purchases" would enable less purshasing over all. What immediately comes to mind are sustainables and reusable items to take the place of disposables. Maybe food storage containers or double walled, thermal and beverage and food containers to make taking your own food rather than buying out more possible.

I’m starting a no buy/low buy year. I spend money on everything I want. This has to stop. One idea I heard was to highlight the days on the calendar when no money was spent outside of your necessities. You will want to keep the trend going each day. If you miss a day by spending, that day does not get a highlight and you start again the next day. Now you can track how many days you were successful! Much better than quitting all together.

I did a no buy year for 2023. I basically only bought necessary consumables as needed. I will be continuing the no buy year into 2024.

I love secondhand shopping! But this year I intend to only spend money I get back from consignment stores on new things. This will drastically reduce the amount of money I'll be spending, and incentivize me to get rid of things/take care of my things to increase my thrift store budget.

2024 will be my no buy year. I have decided that since last month. I have been organising my budget. My goal is to get savings enough to cover 6-month bills. Let's see what I can do about. ❤️

Starting a No Buy Month to break a spending habit picked up during a wardrobe overhaul after landing a new role. Time for a reset!
  • Love the intro haha!! Me and my partner are trying to see how long we can go without buying anything, our rules: 1. Only spend on food and consumables. 2. We can spend reasonably on our trip on holiday. 3. We can splurge once every quarter but only on reasonable items (buy it for life, sustainable etc). We're going to be each other cheerleaders. Our goal is to be able to turbocharge our savings before putting it down for a house! Totally agree with money tracking, I think the biggest tip I got was to immediately put money away and give yourself a strict budget by analysing everything you've spent. Also, small tip that's super useful. Use Ublock Origin on your computer, and block as many ads as you can everywhere.

I am doing a no-buy year. I have enough clothes etc. Get rid of clutter for a house that wld be easier to clean. Only buy essential food stuffs, check freezer and pantry. I am keeping a food and meal diary. Hoping for great results.
  • The best video on this topic so far! Especially because you are keeping it real with setbacks ❤
