  • When you mentioned painting military vehicles, it took me back to my stint in the Army in the early 70's. They wanted us to put camo paint jobs on our APC's. My buddy, being a rebellious draftee, painted his APC with peace signs and penis's blended into the pattern. Oh BTW, it appears they are trying to start up the selective service again. Sounds like you guys are going to have a spectacular summer adventure. Thanks for sharing.

I bought a harbor freight inflator that goes to 160psi for my mom about a year ago. It was $35 on sale.
  • When in Michigan you should checkout the U.P. it's beautiful.
  • @Ulbre
I love the paint job.......... looks awesome
  • Ooooh DISCO BALL IS UP WOO HOO!!! Love me shiny things...like disco balls, Lenny's paint, Colt's eyes!! LOL And your package is at your post office in a parcel locker. Something in there you can use on your "non-planned yet somewhat planned trip", I do believe. I hate credit cards for the no privacy issue, and pay them off monthly, but I do use them for the free dollars back because I'm greedy (Discover), pet emergency (Care Credit...saved my beehind many times with the 6 to 24 months to pay back/down with no interest). I am looking into Open Roads for when I have a diesel, since that has been recommended several times to me for a fuel discount card, which these days matters a lot. Do you have that one? So excited to see vids of your trip. Although...doesn't Indiana have really harsher winters than Washington? Will that affect your joints? Even though Elkhart is the RV capital. I can't wait to visit it for the RV Museum. That and Michigan, of course, the birthplace of the Avions.

I'm sure you have 22.5" tires which can be quite expensive. We have 8 - 19.5" tires on our MH, as we have a tag axle to carry more weight. We replaced ours in February of 23 with Vitour VA23 245/70R19.5 16ply Tires. We had them mounted and balanced at a small tire shop in Harlingen, TX for only $2,200 for all 8! These are high load, 16 ply truck tires but are only speed rated at 87mph. I won't be going over 70mph anyway. I thought they would ride harsher than the 14 ply tires they replaced, but they actually ride nice and smooth. They don't wander like the Yokohamas I replaced, making it steer easier and track better. 22.5" Vitours run about $2,200+ for a set of 6 with mounting and balancing, depending on where you get them from. Most chain tire shops will try to sell you overpriced Michelins or Goodyears instead for $$$$.
  • Looking at this again (avoiding chores again lol) just how high was the drone shot? I haven't got one yet, and am curious how high yours can go. Does it tell you it's going "out of range of control"? Would be awesome over the ocean but I wouldn't want to lose it.
  • @patti8376
Have you checked the date code on your tires? Sometimes that’s more important than the amount of tread you have.
  • @JeepdudeFL
I would be surprised if you found a tire under $500 for a bus like that....
